They changed the mutual view of point that was existed and altered it to their obvious ever hatred towards her and the editor of wiki accepted it! Just because it was backed up by sources from books that support the same shia's theory that we all know is full of insult and cursing. First ten days of Dhil Hijjah

We have a few days left for the month of Dhil Hijjah to dawn upon us which is the concluding month of the Islamic calendar. Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم has described this month as the most blessed and sanctified month from all the Islamic months. It is narrated in Shuab Al-Iman of Imam Al-Bayhaqi that Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم said,

3755 - أخبرنا القاضي أبو عمر محمد بن الحسين بن محمد بن الهيثم أنا أحمد بن محمود بن حرزاد الكازروني نا موسى بن إسحاق الأنصاري نا خالد بن يزيد بن عبد الملك عن صفوان بن سليم عن عطاء بن يسار عن أبي سعيد الخدري قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم سيد الشهور شهر رمضان و أعظمها حرمة ذو الحجة

“The leader of all months is Ramadhaan and the most sacred is Dhul Hijjah.”

A Sahabi, Hazrat Kab (r.a) has categorized the blessed months of the Islamic calendar by saying,

و قال سهيل بن أبي صالح عن أبيه عن كعب قال : أحب الزمان إلى الله الأشهر الحرم

“The period most beloved to Allah is the four sacred months, i.e. Dhul Qa’dah, Dhul Hijjah, Muharram and Rajab.”

و أحب الأشهر الحرم إلى الله ذو الحجة

“And from these four sacred months Allah admires the month of Dhul Hijjah…”

و أحب ذي الحجة إلى الله العشر الأول

"And although the entire month of Dhil Hijjah is blessed and sanctified, Allah has additionally favoured the first ten days of this month."

In a narration of Musnad Bazzaar, Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم has described these days as,

أفضل أيام الدنيا العشر

“These are the best of all days.”

In order to draw our attention to the greatness of these days Allah has taken an oath on them in the noble Quran. Allah says,

{ والفجر * وليال عشر }

“By the break of dawn…”

Commentators differ as to what the meaning of this verse is; some commentators suggest that Allah is taking an oath on the general breaking of dawn. However, there are numerous Commentators that opined that Allah is taking an oath on the dawn of the tenth day of Dhil Hijjah.

وليال عشر

“And by the first ten nights of Dhil hijjah,”

Allah has taken an oath on the first ten nights of Dhil Hijjah to show us the great virtues of this period.

Allah Ta’ala loves the actions which a person carries out during this period and is even prepared to multiply the rewards for every action. Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم has said, as narrated in Sunan At-Tirmidhi and Sunan Ibn Majah,

سنن الترمذي - (ج 3 / ص 131)
758 - حدثنا أبو بكر بن نافع البصري حدثنا مسعود بن واصل عن نهاس بن قهم عن قتادة عن سعيد بن المسيب عن أبي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم : قال ما من أيام أحب إلى الله أن يتعبد له فيها من عشر ذي الحجة

There is no occasion when Allah loves and prefers worship more than he loves the worship of the first ten days of Dhil Hijjah.

يعدل صيام كل يوم منها بصيام سنة

“Fasting on just one day of these ten days is equal to fasting an entire year.”

In fact, by fasting the ninth day alone, which is the day of Arafaat, a person’s sins of the coming year and the previous year will be forgiven. In a narration of Sunan ibn majah, Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم said,

1730 - حدثنا أحمد بن عبدة . أنبأنا حماد بن زيد . حدثنا غيلان بن جرير عن عبد الله بن معبد الزماني عن أبي قتادة قال
: - قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم ( صيام يوم عرفة إني أحتسب على الله أن يكفر السنة التي قبله والتي بعده ) .
قال الشيخ الألباني : صحيح

“By virtue of the fast of Arafah, I have hope that Allah will forgive the sins of the previous year as well as the sins of the coming year.”

Nabi صلى الله عليه و سلم continues by mentioning the virtues of the first ten nights by saying,

وقيام كل ليلة منها بقيام ليلة القدر

“And the worship of every night is equal to the worship of Layl al-qadr.”

We all know the great rewards of Layl al-qadr. It is equivalent to a thousand months. However, the exact date of layl al-qadr is hidden and not known to us. Furthermore, laylatul qadr comes only once a year. Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم mentioned that the rewards of worship on these nights are equal to that of Layl al-qadr.

Besides only fasting and standing in prayer, the rewards of other actions are also multiplied. In a narration of Shuab al-Iman of Imam Al-Bayhaqi, Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم said,

و العمل فيهن يضاعف سبعمائة ضعف

“(During the first ten days of Dhil Hijjah) the reward of every action is multiplied seven hundred times.”

Anas (r.a) mentions,

3766 - أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الله الحافظ أنا أبو نصر أحمد بن سهل الفقيه نا صالح بن محمد الحافظ البغدادي نا محمد بن عمرو بن جبلة نا حرمي بن عمارة حدثني هارون بن موسى قال : سمعت الحسن يحدث عن أنس بن مالك فقال : كان يقال في أيام العشر لكل يوم ألف و يوم عرفة عشرة آلاف يوم يعني في الفضل

“Every day of the first ten days of Dhil Hijjah is equal to a thousand days…” By carrying out an action on just one day a person will be rewarded as if he carried out that action for a thousand days.

When Sahabah heard that no action is more beloved to Allah than the actions done on the first ten days of Dhil Hijjah, they asked Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم in total astonishment,

ولا الجهاد فى سبيل الله

…That… we understand fighting and striving to be the greatest action, are you saying that small actions done on these ten days are even more beloved to Allah than jihad and fighting in the path of Allah. Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم replied,

قال « ولا الجهاد فى سبيل الله ».

Yes, small actions done on these ten days are better than fighting Jihad at any other time of the year. However, there is one exception:

« إلا رجل خرج بنفسه وماله فلم يرجع من ذلك بشىء ».

Only if a person goes out and sacrifices both his life and all his wealth, then that person will attain more reward; otherwise, for every other action, the actions of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are more beloved to Allah Ta’ala.

The great Tabi’, Imam Al-Auzai (r.a) mentions as narrated in Shuab al Iman of Imam Al-Bayhaqi,

3753 - أخبرنا أبو عبد الله الحافظ و محمد بن موسى قالا : نا أبو العباس الأصم نا العباس بن الوليد بن مزيد أخبرني أبي نا الأوزاعي قال : بلغني أن العمل في اليوم من أيام العشر بقدر غزوة في سبيل الله يصام نهارها و يحرس ليلها إلا أن يحتضن امرء و بشهادة قال الأوزاعي : حدثني بهذا الحديث رجل من قريش من بني مخزوم عن النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم

“It has reached me from Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم that a person who does any good action on these ten days, he would be given the reward of going to fight in the part of Allah, fasting the whole day and keeping guard of Muslims at night.”

Imagine that each of these actions; fighting in the part of Allah, fasting and looking after the Muslim army at night; each of these actions independently is adequate for the salvation of a person. By carrying out good actions in these ten days a person will get such a huge reward.

We all know that the greatest day of the week is Friday. Hadhrat Ibn Umar (r.a) has said,

و روى ثوير بن أبي فاخته ـ و فيه ضعف ـ عن مجاهد عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما قال : ليس يوم أعظم عند الله من يوم الجمعة ليس العشر فإن العمل فيها يعدل عمل سنة

There is no day better than Friday except these ten days. Every day of these ten days is better than Friday because for every small action which a person does he will get the reward of doing that action for an entire year.

Respected friends, let us try to derive maximum benefit from these ten days. If we have the ability we should try to keep fast on these days and we should take out some time every night for the worship of Allah. Another action which Nabi صلى الله عليه و سلم suggested is that we continuously make dhikr as narrated in Musnad Ahmad and Al-Mujam al-kabeer of Imam At-Tabrani that Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم said,

المعجم الكبير - (ج 11 / ص 82)
11116 - حدثنا معاذ بن المثنى ثنا مسدد ثنا خالد عن يزيد بن أبي زياد عن مجاهد عن ابن عباس قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم : فأكثروا فيهن من التسبيح والتحميد والتكبير والتهليل

“Increase in reciting Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu akbar and continuously recite the kalimah la ilaha illa Allah during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah.”

In Saheeh Al-Bukhari it is mentioned that during the first ten days of Dhil Hijjah Ibn Umar and Abi Hurairah used to go to the market place and recite Allahu akbar loudly in order to remind people of the remembrance of Allah. In Abu Dawood it is mentioned,

و لا يأتيان لشيء إلا لذلك

“They never used to go for any other reason but to remind people of the remembrance of Allah.”

Therefore, let us take out some time as a poet so beautifully mentioned,

( ليالي العشر أوقات الإجابة ... فبادر رغبة تلحق ثوابه )
( ألا لا وقت للعمال فيه ... ثواب الخير أقرب للإصابة )
( من أوقات الليالي العشر حقا ... فشمر واطلبن فيها الإنابة )

The first ten nights of Dhil Hijjah are a time when Allah readily accepts supplications

Allamah Firyabi narrates from Abu Musa (May Allah Ta'ala be pleased with him) that he said,

لا يرد فيهن الدعاء

We all have problems or things that we seek in life; these ten days are a period when supplications are accepted. Let us use the nights of these ten days to ask Allah for all our needs.

Hasten to perform good actions in order to attain the great reward of these days

You have heard the great rewards of these days
• These are the best of all days
• Allah has taken an oath on these days
• For every fast a person will get the reward of fasting for an entire year
• Every night is equal to Layla al Qadr
• Every action is multiplied 700 times
• For every action a person will be rewarded as if he carried out that action for a year
• For every action a person will be rewarded as if he fought in the path of Allah, in such a condition that he fasted the entire day and guarded the Muslim army at night

The poet mentions if you want these great rewards then take out some time for worship.

There is no time when actions are more readily accepted than these ten days; hence, exert yourself and turn towards Allah.

It is mentioned of the great Tabi’, Hadhrat Saeed bin Jubair (r.a) that in these ten days he used to exert himself to the maximum to such an extent that it would be almost impossible for him to increase.

لطائف المعارف - (ج 1 / ص 289)
و كان سعيد بن جبير و هو الذي روى هذا الحديث عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما إذا دخل العشر اجتهد اجتهادا حتى ما يكاد يقدر عليه

He also used to exhort his students to spend the night in worship by saying to them,

و روي عنه أنه قال : لا تطفئوا سرجكم ليالي العشر تعجبه العبادة

Respected friends, now while we have the opportunity let us try to take maximum benefit.

A poet says,
لطائف المعارف - (ج 1 / ص 295)
( ليس للميت في قبره ... فطر و لا أضحى و لا عشر )

When we die we won’t get this opportunity again.

If we cannot do any good in these ten days, then at least let us stay away from sin. Allamah Ibn Rajab Hambali mentions,

احذروا المعاصي فإنها تحرم المغفرة في مواسم الرحمة

Allamah Marwazi mentions in ‘Kitab al war’ that a person from the Sahabah or Tabi’een saw a dream on the first night of Dhil Hijjah that a person came to him and said, “Every person is being forgiven five times on these ten days except those who used to engage in sin by playing chess. Hence, if we cannot do any good then let us at least stay away from evil.

And finally, Dhul Hijjah marks the last month on the Islamic calendar; let us end this Islamic year on a good note by attaining forgiveness for all our sins which we carried out during the year. I leave you with a poem

و لا في عشر ذي الحجة الذي مضي كنت قواما و لا كنت صائما
فهل لك أن تمحو الذنوب بعبرة و تبكي عليها حسرة و تندما
و تستقبل العام الجديد بتوبة لعلك ان تمحو بها ما تقدما

Respected friends, if we cannot spend our entire in worship, let us at least take out some time. If we cannot fast or pray salah the entire night, let us make dhikr while walking and carrying out our chores. In a narration of Musnad Ahmad Al-Mujam al-kabeer of Imam At-Tabrani Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم said,

Brothers, these ten days are an
( ناء عن الأهل على قربه ... كذاك من مسكنه القبر )

Once you die you won’t get back these great days.

Respected brothers and sisters, these ten days are terminated by the great day of Eid wherein we have been commanded to slaughter animals. One virtuous action for those intending to slaughter is that during the first ten days of Dhil Hijjah they should not cut their nails or hair. It is narrated in Saheeh Muslim,

صحيح مسلم – (ج 6 / ص 83)
2 – حدثنا ابن أبى عمر المكى حدثنا سفيان عن عبد الرحمن بن حميد بن عبد الرحمن بن عوف سمع سعيد بن المسيب يحدث عن أم سلمة أن النبى –صلى الله عليه وسلم- قال « إذا دخلت العشر وأراد أحدكم أن يضحى فلا يمس من شعره وبشره شيئا »

“When the ten days of Dhil Hijjah set in and any of few wish to make Qurbani, then he should not cut his hair or nails.”

Commentators of Hadith suggest that the primary reason for this is that we can resemble those who are in Ihram.

One more point with which I wish to conclude, the greatest action which a person can do on Eid al-adha is to slaughter as much animals as possible. In a narration of Sunan At-Tirmidhi and Sunan Ibn Majah Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم has said,

حدثنا ابو عمرو مسلم بن عمرو بن مسلم الحذاء المدني حدثنا عبد الله بن نافع الصائغ أبو محمد عن ابي المثنى عن هشام بن عروة عن ابيه عن عائشة : أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم قال ما عمل آدمي من عمل يوم النحر أحب إلى الله من إهراق الدم
On the day of Eid al-adha the best action which a person does is to slaughter animals

Many of us send our qurbani overseas and rightfully so; the Qurbani will be valid.
Spirit is to commomerate Ebrahim However, with sending overseas we should also try to slaughter at least one sheep so that we can also participate and involve ourselves in the spirit of Qurbani. Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم used to stress on his family members to participate in Qurbani, as is narrated in Mustadrak al-Hakim,

Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم himself used to take special care in performing Qurbani himself. There is still time for us to buy an animal in Qurbani. Let us try our best to participate in the Qurbani.

There is a nasihah probably of umar . He says " Judge a person only after staying with him ". It means that when you stay with a person for some time, then you will know the true color of a person.

For example I once met a doctor who is more respectable in the region. Initially I thought he was very righteous. But I had some work with him and I had to go to him for few days. But soon I realized he is a professional lier. It is my bad habit that I recheck all the things before accepting any word from others. So when I rechecked the things he said, I was astonished to the level and style of his lying.

How far are we related to our brothers and sisters these days? This recent incident has moved my heart so much. One girl's father passed away on Jumatul widah. One friend of this girl who lives in other city didn't come to see her because she was in her husband's house. Few days later the girl whose father died called to her friend and asked her to come to her home. Her mental state was not good and was subjected to severe shock as her father was not much old. However the husband agreed, but the father of his wife doesn't want her daughter to go there, only because he is afraid that her husband's family would feel bad.

Till here everything is good but what has hurt me is that the father of this girl told her "is she your relative to worry about?"

Are we expected to say such words as a muslim ?

I know it has been a long time back since I actually posted on my blog. I was busy with some not more useful things on earth... But now alhamdulillah I thought I should be back to my islamic life (which was a sort of out of order since few months). Yeah, I know Islamic life doesnt mean that I should start blogging, but how ever I would like to write some islamic perspectives of mine.

However the month of Ramazan is at an end and unfortunately the time has gone waste till now. Please pray to Allah that we get more ikhlas and strength to pray in this end times of Ramazan

Staying up late at night ... A disease of modern youth !!

Assalamu 'alaikum,

this is beneficial to me. insha Allah, the article is beneficial to others as well

"It is He who has appointed the night a covering for you and sleep for a rest. The day He has appointed for rising." (Surah Furqaan: 47)

Thus, the night is created for rest and the day for work and for seeking provision. Yet we do the exact opposite. We are up at night and sleep late into the day, sometimes, up to or even beyond Dhuhr time, and waste much precious time. 'Umar Radhi Allaahu Anhu used to punish people the people who did this and say: 'You stay up for the first part of the night, then sleep for the last part of it?'".

If we look at how the righteous before us spent their nights, we realize that they used their nights as a means to earning Jannah; praying, reciting the Qur'aan, crying and supplicating to Allah. However, some of us Muslims, today take their nights as a means of entertainment and fun and even, audhu billaah, a means of haraam and sin.

Actually, the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) himself, did not like to stay up or even speak after Ishaa.
"The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) used to like to delay the 'Ishaa' prayer and he hated to sleep before it or talk after it". (Bukhari).
He also disapproved of staying up late and warned against it.

Why did he do that? Because staying up late might cause many harms. Some of them are:

1. It may cause one to totally miss the Fajr prayer
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: "Between a man and kufr and shirk, there stands his giving up prayer." (Muslim)

2. Even if you do wake up for Fajr, it is extremely hard to concentrate in the prayer or even know what one is saying.

3. Staying up late causes health problems, exhaustion, weakness, and loss of enthusiasm.
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: "Staying up late is tiring and burdensome." (Daarimi, Tabaraani, others)

4. It also leads to lack of responsibility and laziness, as it is extremely difficult to wake up early for school, job, etc. if you are up half the night. The person ends up sleeping late into the day, missing his work, and slacking in responsibility.
Al-Fudayl ibn 'Iyaad said: There are two qualities that harden the heart: sleeping too much and eating too much.

5. We also miss out on the most blessed part of the day is the early morning. The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa sallam) said:
"The early morning has been blessed for my Ummah."(Saheeh al-Jaami').
That's why whenever the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa sallam) sent out troops or an army, he would send them at the beginning of the day. But by sleeping late, we lose the blessings of this time and the profits we could have gained.

6. If we don't sleep early, we can't wake up in time for qiyaam ul-lail, a time for prayer, making dua and seeking forgiveness from Allaah, as the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said:
"Our Lord descends every night to the heavens when there is only one third of the night remaining and says: Who is supplicating to me so that I can respond to him? Who is asking Me for something so that I can grant him that which he is asking for? Who is seeking My forgiveness so that I can forgive him" (Bukhaari, Muslim)

Is it befitting that we, as Muslims, miss this honorable and virtuous time and waste it either sleeping or following our desires?

7. Staying up late is also a major reason behind many of the moral crimes, community problems, car accidents, etc.

Exceptions to the rule:

The Ulama say that staying up late unnecessarily is nothing but a bad habit, unless it serves a purpose, such as praying and worshipping Allaah, seeking knowledge of Islaam, a person's job, traveling, students preparing for exams, or other beneficial or permissible matters.

The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: "Staying up late is for one of three categories of people; those traveling, those praying the night prayers, or those on their wedding night." (Abu Ya'laa).

What Islam encourages us to do is to sleep early, preferably right after Ishaa, then wake up early in time for our prayers (Fajr and Tahajjud, if possible) and then take advantage of the blessings of early morning for our work and provision. We are also encouraged to take a nap during the day, either before Dhuhr or after, if we are able to.

The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said:

"Take a nap, for the shayaateen do not take naps." (al-Tabaraani--Saheeh).
Ishaaq ibn 'Abd-Allaah said: "Taking a nap is one of the deeds of good people. It revitalizes the heart and helps one to pray qiyaam al-layl."

Linguistic Miracle of Al-Qur'an

Asalaam alaikum warahmatulah wabarakatuh.

لِّيَجْزِيَ اللَّهُ الصَّادِقِينَ بِصِدْقِهِمْ وَيُعَذِّبَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ إِن شَاءَ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا

(Ahzaab 33:24)

That Allah may reward the truthful for their truth and punish the hypocrites if He wills or accept their repentance. Indeed, Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.

Point #1:

See how; Allah mentions His Name near the Saadiqeen [truthful], yet He does not mention His Name near the hypocrites.

This is done because Allah is close to the Saadiqeen [truthful to themselves and truthful to Allah] - so He mentions His closeness to them by mentioning His Name next to them, and is angry with the hypocrites, so He does not mention His Name near the hypocrites [i.e. He is distant from them].

Point #2:

But to give hope to those who have hypocrisy in their hearts, He mentions that the hypocrite can still reach that closeness to Allah, and that can only be reached by approaching His Forgiveness and Mercy.

He pictures this by placing His Names of Mercy (Ghafoor & Raheem) next to the Name; Allah, so the hypocrite will only get closer to Allah by approaching His Forgiveness & Mercy.

Point #1 is used many times in the Qur'an, sometimes in selected aayaat/verses [like above], sometimes in whole Surahs i.e. in Surah Tariq, Allah does not even mention His Name once in the whole Surah, due to His Anger and distance against the rejectors/disbelievers.

Allah Does Not Disappoint

In one of Shaykh Muhammad Mukhtar al-Shanqiti's tapes on 'Yaqin' (certainty), he mentions the story of a scholar who was once afflicted with poverty…

The scholar had just completed writing the tafseer of the Qur'an but due to his poor income, he was unable to publish his work. So he went and sought counsel from his brethren, students and teachers. They directed him to man who possessed much wealth and riches saying 'Go to so-and-so, he'll provide you with some money so you can publish your work.'

The scholar went and rented a ship, embarking on his journey and going by sea. However, it was by the Mercy and Divine Plan of Allah `azza wa jall that as he set off, he saw a man walking along the seashore. He ordered the captain of the ship to let this man get on and ride along with them. When the man got on, the scholar asked, 'Who are you?' He said, 'I am so-and-so (mentioning his name).' The man then asked, 'Where are you going (i.e. where is the ship destined?).' The scholar said, 'I am going to so-and-so in search of his assistance in publishing my book.' The man said, 'I hear you have interpreted the Qur'an?' He said, 'Yes.' The man said, 'Subhan Allah, how did you interpret the statement of Allah `azza wa jall,

إيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وإيَّاكَ نَسْتعِينُ
'You do we worship and only in You do we seek Help.'
[Surah al-Fatiha]

The scholar provided the man with the tafseer of the verse, but he understood the intent that lay behind the question. So he said to the captain of the ship, 'Take me back to my house.'

May Allah have mercy upon him; despite his needy state, he returned to his house, but with his heart filled with certainty that Allah `azza wa jall would surely suffice him, take him out of this poverty and ease his affairs.

No more than 3 days had passed by when a man knocked on his door. He opened it and the man said, 'I've come with a message from so-and-so. News has reached him that you have authored a tafseer of the Qur'an which he would like to see.' Incredibly, this turned out to be the same man whom the scholar had set off to meet and get help from! So he gave the tafseer to the messenger who took it back with him. When the wealthy man read it, he was filled with amazement and admiration, causing him to return a pouch filled with gold and riches to the poor scholar.

We should never forget…

ما أيقن الإنسان بالله عز وجل فخيّبه الله سبحانه وتعالى
'A person has never held certainty in Allah `azza wa jall only for Allah to disappoint him.' Never will Allah disappoint those with yaqeen (certainty), tawakkul (reliance) and husn al-dhann (good opinion) of Him.

"Each of you should ask for his needs from Allaah, even if the strap of your sandal breaks, because if Allaah does not facilitate it, it will never be possible."

The use of delicate sounds.. exhibits the Qur'an's ability to express meaning and images via the sound of its text:

The Still Night..

وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ

wallayli izaa sajaa..

"And by the Night when it is still.." [Qur'an 93: 2]

The way the Qur'an uses the word 'when it is still' produces a tranquil tone and a smooth sound. This indicates the peace, stillness and serenity that night time provides.

The Striking of Rocks to Produce Sparks:

The Qur'an also uses sound to build intense images, for example,

فَالْمُورِيَاتِ قَدْحًا

Faalmooriyaati Qad-han

"And the producers of sparks striking" [Qur'an 100: 2] (really referring to war horses galloping and their hooves striking rocks to produce sparks [refer to the tafseers on this verse])

The word for sparks striking, 'Qad-han', that is used here emits a sound that develops the sense of this image, the proximity of the Arabic letters Qa - striking the 'daal' and rebounding the 'ha' is responsible for this sound.

Splattering and Scattering..

In another example,:

وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ الْمُعْصِرَاتِ مَاءً ثَجَّاجًا

Waanzalna mina almu'siraati maa'an thajjaja

And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water.[Naba' 78:14]

The use of the word 'thajjaja' in this verse, with its series of vowels emits a sound of splattering and scattering, which expresses the image of the drama.

For example in the verse below the Qur'an uses words that imitate the sound they denote. This rhetorical device called Onomatopoeia is widely used throughout the Qur'anic discourse.

Saaaakhah.. the loud deafening noise.

فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الصَّاخَّةُ

Fa-itha jaa'ati-ssaaakhah

But when there comes the Deafening Blast. [Abasa 80:33]

The word for 'deafening noise', 'alssaakhah,' chosen here produces a sound eluding to its meaning.

The Arabic letters 'kha' connected with a 'ta' [marboota = a 'ha' sound] emanate harsh sounds which conform to the meaning of the text.

The Waswasa Whispering..

فَوَسْوَسَ إِلَيْهِ الشَّيْطَانُ

Fa Wasswassa ilayhi-shaytaan.. [Ta-Ha 20:120]

So Satan whispered to him [Adam]...

The word Wasswassa = Repeated Whispering which is targetted at someone, paused, and then comes back again.

The word is repeated twice [Wass-Wassa] because satan's whispering is targetted at a person - to make them doubt/fear/get confused etc. then he will go away and come back again to whisper again another time...

The utilisation of sounds in the Qur'an also play a rhetorical role.

Sounds in the Qur'an are employed to increase the effect of its message. The Arabic language has many words for a single meaning, but yet the Qur'an selects and arranges the words to portray the intended meaning in addition to create sounds to conform to the image, scene and message the book conveys. This is not only done by selecting the right words but also arranging them in a specific way to develop sounds and rhythms. Just by touching upon a few simple examples it can be seen why Pickthall was lead to believe that the Qur'an had an "inimitable symphony".

A famous Orientalist Arberry comments on his personal experience with the rhythm of the Qur'an:

"Whenever I hear the Quran chanted, it is as though I am listening to Music, underneath the flowing melody there is sounding… insistent beat of a drum, it is like the beating of my heart."

Rhyming Scheme in Surah Maryam

In Surah Maryam the rhyming pattern is very distinct and consistent throughout the beginning of the Surah all the way up until the point that it begins to address Isa (alayhis Salam).

Listen to [or read] Surah Maryam [surah/chapter 19], starting from verse [19:]2, all the way to verse 33. This is a narrative of the story of Prophet Zakariyyah, and Maryam/Mary (peace be upon them.) Then it begins briefly on the birth of Prophet 'Eesa/Jesus.

So at the end of every aayah/verse, there is an "iyya" sound at the end. I.e. زَكَرِيَّا [Zakariyyah] (in the 2nd verse), with شَقِيًّا [Shakkiyya] (on the 32nd verse), حَيًّاHayya [meaning 'Life'] (on the 33rd verse). With the 33rd verse referring to Jesus talking whilst being a baby.

Suddenly, a Drastic change takes place - the Rhyming Scheme changes totally:

ذَٰلِكَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ۚ قَوْلَ الْحَقِّ الَّذِي فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ

That is Jesus, the son of Mary - the word of truth about which they are in dispute. [Maryam 19:34]

The last word now is 'yamtaroon'.

Why is this rhyming scheme changed?

Part of the characteristics of the Quran is that it is something meant to be recited and heard by the people. When someone is listening to this, and they notice an abrupt change they will automatically pay more attention. The rhyme scheme is not beautification only, but it serves a very real purpose in drawing attention to a very important point in the Surah.

This important point in the Surah is clearing the doubts on the character Jesus son of Mary, about whom they are in dispute. This abrupt change makes you notice a difference in rhythm and tune, it must be really big news for the tune/rhythm/theme to change totally after so long.. It gives focus, and clears the doubts of the sincere listener.

Rhythm continues...

After that part is finished, Allah starts talking about Ibrahim/Abraham (alayhis Salam) and his story [from Surah Maryam 19:34 onwards], it returns back to the original pattern (with 'Iyya' at the end of the verses again).. To continue the flow of what was being mentioned previously of the narratives of the righteous.

The Secret Happiness

Asalaam alaikum Warahmatulah Wabarakatuh

So important is the concept of 'happiness' in our lives that many people – even dating back to the days of the Greek philosophers – considered its pursuit to be the very purpose of existence.

Indeed, the Qur'an itself speaks of happiness as being one of the rewards of those whom Allah chooses to admit to Paradise. He says of the martyrs in Aal-'Imraan, verse 170,

فَرِحِينَ بِمَا آَتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ
They rejoice in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His Bounty

And of the reward of the pious believers [al-Insaan, verse 11],

فَوَقَاهُمُ اللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّاهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا
So, Allah saved them from the evil of that Day and gave them a light of beauty and joy.

What becomes immediately apparent upon reading the Arabic text (but once again obscured in the translation) is that two very different words have been used to convey the idea of happiness: فَرِحِينَ fariheena, which is conjugated from the noun فَرَح farah, and سُرُور suroor, and this is prevalent throughout the Qur'an. This is because there are two very different types of happiness being referred to.

فَرَح farah generally refers to transitory delights or pleasures, as is the case in bodily or worldly pleasure. For this reason, most times that فَرَح farah appears in the Qur'an, it is being censured, as in the story of Qarun [al-Qasas, verse 76],

إِنَّ اللهَ لا يُحِبُّ الَفِرحِينَ
Indeed, Allaah does not like the fariheen

But when the source of the farah is specified in the Qur'an, as in the verse from Aal-'Imraan mentioned above, the meaning becomes restricted (muqayyad) and it is no longer censured.

But perhaps a greater distinction between the two lies in the manifestation of the happiness. Whereas the expression of farah is external and with clear outward signs, suroor refers to the expansion of one's heart with delight or pleasure wherein is quiet or tranquility, and as such it has no external sign. This is indicated by the root from which the word stems – س ر seen raa' – the same root as the word سرّ sirr, or secret. So suroor is a secret happiness, known to one's heart but not always seen by others, as Ibn 'Abbas said in reference to the above verse from al-Insaan, "The نضرة nadrah is on their faces, and the سرور suroor is in their hearts."

Such distinctions exemplify yet another example in which the translation fails and the original prevails.

Moulana Hameed-uddin Aqeel Hussami has passed away - we feel his loss

The news broke our heart today as we came to know that one of the greatest alim of India, Moulana Aqeel sahab has passed away today at 4 am. He was the boldest alim in India and was well known for eradicating bidah from minds of people. On the 10 moharram when shias do matam, he used to say its kufr sitting in the masjid which shared same ground of matam of shias. the masjid was not used before since its in shia place but Aqeel sahab said that we will read namaz here and he would be the khatib there. Now that masjid is one of the big masjids in hyderabad and has one of the largest gatherings on fridays.

He was one of the most respected alims and elderly man in India.

May Allah have mercy on his soul and give him the best in jannah and may Allah give us strength to fight bidah and shias like he did

inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon

Namaz e janaza will be at the Grand Mecca Masjid after jumah. The jumah prayer at mecca masjid is between 12.30 pm to 1 pm inshaAllah

Overcome the barriers to understand the truth

It does not matter what effort a person is doing, we all need to make sure that we do not make mistakes in quoting religious scripture.

At first, if a person is not a Hafidh and they are not scholars, it's best not to quote in Arabic. If a person feels that they must do it for Allah knows best what reasons, then they should make sure that they are not relying on their memory but rather, they should have it written out on paper. If not that, then have a Hafiz sit with you to correct your Quran mistakes. If not that, then at least once it's recorded, go over the recording and if you come across any mistakes, edit them out. We all make mistakes but steps should be taken to rectify it instead of putting it up online with so many mistakes. Some of those files have been up for years and I don't want to start dropping names and calling out people, but this is a very important issue and Tabligh dealt with it many years ago.

Tasawwuf Peers should implement the same rule as well. If I had Khalifahs :), I would keep my out on them to make sure that they are not making such glaring obvious mistakes. If they did, I would point it out to them.

Whilst at it….Let me also point out that we all have scholars whom we love and whom we hold in high esteem. We all are affiliated with one Islamic group or another. If their mistake is ever pointed out, we should take a deep breath and ask ourselves, “Is the mistake that is pointed out true or not?” If it is not, then we explain to the person that it is a misunderstanding. If it is a mistake then we should be happy that the mistake was pointed out about our “Sheikh” or “Group” or any other affiliation we have. Then we should try our utmost to have that mistake rectified.

But what is not correct is when a mistake is pointed out about beloved scholar or group or whatever else we are attached with, we start getting defensive and try to bring down many others with us as well. What’s so hard about saying, “Yes. That’s wrong and it should be corrected.” No Sheikh or a religious group is infallible. We all make mistakes and when they are made and they are pointed out, it’s not the end of the world. Don’t go all crazy in trying to defend an obvious wrong. All those who are not attached to that Sheikh or that group can easily tell how biased we are if we are trying to defend an obvious wrong. It takes a man to realize that yes, that is a genuine mistake and it needs to be rectified. When we start thinking that our scholars and our groups are infallible and they are free from fault and blame and they are faultless like prophets, then that’s really wrong and that needs to be corrected.

Also, if you're going to put up something online for the whole world to read and listen to, then don't start complaining when people criticize it. If it's one the World Wide Web and then don't expect only praises.

When someone praises us, we get happy and when someone criticizes us....we get..... ?

Issue Number One: Let's Copy My Parents

The first pitfall that people recognized is: "We're going to do it like my family did it. We're going to do it like my mother and father did it." And she's saying, "No, we're going to do it like my mother and father did it." And that goes into the anaaniyya that was mentioned earlier – the state of selfishness. Because the constructs which have been built in us, when it comes to marriage, no matter how hard we try to educate ourselves, are basically the constructs we learnt from our parents. What we saw from our parents.

I'll give you a good example. I'm from Oklahoma. My mother and father hate divorce. Alhamdulillah, my mother and father have been married almost sixty years without divorce. I saw them get in fights, I saw a glass break or two. But [it was] never physical. I never saw my father get physical with my mother, ever. Never in front of the kids. They'd raise their voices. They yelled at each other. [When] we were little we said, "Are you guys fighting?" [They responded] "No we're not fighting. Go in your room and shut the door." That's what we do. It's ingrained in me and my brother not to like divorce. So I had another family member who got into a divorce – non-Muslim – and my mother and father's reaction was like "Wait a minute." Why? That's how I was raised.

Now I've learned – through studying in al-Azhar, through reading books, from sitting with scholars, from being around people like you – the concept of divorce we have in Islam. But it's very difficult for me to overcome that construct, because that's what I saw, that's what I lived.

So when we come into a marriage we have to be honest with ourselves. As our dear Sheikh mentioned, we cannot make "I" the focus of everything – my family, my way of doing things. This is a very dangerous problem that comes out of selfishness. What we have to strive for are general Islamic guidelines, general Islamic principles that take into mind the reality of the human being.

How many times did people come to the Prophet (s) and complain about [their wives]? Never? Come on! Read the book on divorce and some of the collections of hadith. How many times did women [come to the Prophet]? Once a woman came to Aisha (it's in Sahih Bukhari), she was black and blue because her husband beat her. Yeah, in Madinah! [Someone sounding shocked:] "Subhan Allah, how could you say that about the companions?!" It's in Sahih Bukhari. So the Prophet (s) dealt with that.

When we come into a marriage situation instead of saying "I…I…I" we have to say "I" and "we". Because to take "I" out of the equation is not realistic, man. I'm going to tell you something. I love to give, but I love to receive. I'm not going to lie. I come home and my wife says, "You know I cooked for you this prawn biryani." I'm not like, "I'm not happy, I didn't give you anything." Hey, I'm ready. Bismillah. Forget Atkins, man. Let's go for it.

So marriage is giving and receiving. When I come to a marriage I have to fuse my identity, my constructs as a person with my wife. And that doesn't happen in one day, doesn't happen in a conference, doesn't happen through a Jumu`ah khutbah. It comes through years of investment and cultivating relationships – trial by error.

One woman came to me and said, "If I could marry anyone it would be my dad."

And I said, "Hey, wait a minute now…"

She said, "No, I would make him, I would make him!"

I said, "Look, you don't make anything. But you're pleased with the qadr (decree) of Allah (SWT)."

To demand a brother to be your father or to demand a woman to be your mother is unrealistic. Bringing in "I" and "we" [is important, after all] I want to benefit. Why am I getting married? I want to benefit. I'm going to reap some benefit, she's going to reap some benefit. But the majority of it is a "we…we…we" relationship. And that's not easy. It's not easy to weld constructs together to form a relationship. It's not. And that's why marriage is a major factor in Islam. You know how many rulings come into play because someone gets married? How many ahkaam (rulings)? Around seventy-five rulings. Just because of a contract for nikah. And Allah says that marriage is a strong, binding, heavy contract (4:21). Why? It is not easy getting married.

So number one, we have to realize, as was mentioned by one social scientist, one of the major reasons – and this was in America by the way, not overseas – that people have problems in their marriage is: "I'm [going] do it like my mom and dad did it. I'm going to replicate everything."

[One time] I met a Muslim brother who told me, "We have to replicate the seerah. So for thirteen years we have to do this. Then, in ten years, this is going to happen. And after that, nas (people), they're going to become Muslim afwaajaa (in droves)."

I said, "Brother, you're a fool."

He said, "Why?"

I said, "Show me once in history where history repeated itself like that, word for word, letter for letter."

And that's what leads to extremism in Islam. The same thing in marriage [when people say] "I'm going to replicate what my mother and father did." Then why'd you get married? Stay home with your parents! [They say] "I want to relive, I want to rehash what happened in my household with my mother and father." That's impossible. So what you're going to have to do is be humble. The first step is humility. The Prophet (s) said in an authentic hadith, "Nobody will humble himself for Allah except that Allah will raise him." So when I come into the marriage, I can't be like Frank Lucas, American gangster [saying] "I'm going to enforce everything on people." No, I must be humble and I must be willing to say, "You know what, I must surrender some things here. I'm going to have to be honest."

And communicate with your spouse. Talk, man, talk! If you don't talk, somebody's going to walk.

So first and foremost, the "I" and the "we" is a combination. Definitely as an individual – and I'm not a social Darwinist – but as an individual you're going to benefit, as a person, from marriage. Why'd you get married in the first place? Because you want to benefit. You want to benefit this deen (religion), you want to become a better Muslim. So you reap the benefits in this life and the next. Secondly, investing and being humble and mature enough to deal with issues as a family.

How many sisters and brothers have came to me and said, "You know one time I was talking with my wife about something, akhi and I said to her this and she said 'Oh my God, I can't believe you did that!'" Come on, relax. That's your husband. You got to carry him and be there for him.

Sometimes sisters might say, "You know when I was in seventh grade I let this guy push me on the swing." [And the husband exclaims] "Oh, you've stained my honor as a husband!" Come on, man. Unrealistic. Unrealistic expectations.

you cannot hope everyone to follow what u think is best

there are various examples here

a brother whos father is shia and mother is sunni, he also joins us and listens to us, if we start to tell him that u should get bayah to a sunni sheikh as shais are deviant, do u think he will listen to what we say ?

another brothers mother is sunni and her husband is mahdvi, he also comes in gusht etc.. so if we say ur father is deviant will he come ?

my classmate who hails from a pure shia family, used to attend our ijtema in college, now if we start saying to him, that shias are deviant, will he come ?

similarly there are issues with tasawwuf and not all of them follow, if we start saying zikr means u should get bayah to sheikh, then will they come to tabligh ? (i too doesnt follow tasawwuf)

this is the reason tabligh doesnt promote controversial issues, since its aim is to join the ummah.

If some one feels that something is important, let him follow it personally, please do not try to impose it on others who dont like to follow, this will cause only division. Surely guidance is in the hands of Allah, we should do dua for guidance of others if they think that others are wrong

A believer is a mirror to another believer

I remember when our restroom mirror was being replaced, my family decided to snatch mine, until a new one was bought. I didn't really mind it at the time, I didn't really use it that much…or so I thought. After they took it away, my life became a little…lopsided. Each morning I would wake up, get dressed, then stand before my dresser looking forward, prepared to tackle the task of wrapping my hijab, and to my dismay, every day, I found myself staring at a rosey pink wall. I was tricked into it each morning, for that week. Every day I would be a little startled when I couldn't see myself when I wanted to. It doesn't sound like that big of a deal, since all I had to do was open my bedroom door, head down the hall and into the restroom, to see myself…but surprisingly, it was. It was then, last February, that I realized the true blessing of having a mirror. Wa Alhamdulilah.

This realization has recently expanded to more than just the physical world, about one month ago when I listened to a lecture by sheikh Kamal El-mekki, hafidhahullah. His talk, named Got Manners?, was enough to slap me awake, turn me around, and spark a love in my heart for mirrors all over the world. Sounds materialistic aye? Hardly.

Before I tell you the points that really did it for me, I want you to take a moment and think. Think about a day when you were deprived of any mirror being anywhere near you. Think about what would happen. Think about how you would look when you left the house. Think about how self conscious you would be.

Now reflect. The Prophet, sal Allahu Alayhi wa salam , said ""A believer is a mirror to another believer" (narrated by Abu Huraira—transmitted in Abu Dawud). Now WHY did He say this? Why choose mirror specifically and not just say "they give naseeha (advice) to one another?

When a mirror shows you something you appreciate it
- Let's say you are getting ready to go out to an important event and you are wearing black on black. You stand in front of the mirror and you find a big white feather in your hair (in your hijab for sisters ). Do you get angry at the mirror for showing you the flaw? No you appreciate it showing you the flaw because that is what you expect.
The mirror shows you your true self immediately
- It doesn't stop and not show you your flaw because you are feeling good at the moment and decides to tell you when you get home so your feelings are not hurt
The mirror shows you the truth
- No exaggerations. It doesn't show you that you are worse than you actually are NOR better than you actually are.
You wholeheartedly believe the mirror
- You don't think "that's not me" or "the mirror doesn't know what its talking about"
The mirror shows you the good and the bad
- It doesn't just show you the bad. That's why when you give advice to someone you start with something nice.
The mirror shows you what you look like in the context of what you are around
- It doesn't just show you yourself and ignore everything around you.
The mirror doesn't wait for you to ask it's advice
- Some people you have to pull the advice out of them

ISLAMABAD: In an unprecedented move, top leaders of the Tableeghi Jamaat have denounced enforcement of Sharia at gunpoint, religious extremism, militancy and terrorism.

Leaders of the Jamaat, who scrupulously avoid speaking on controversial issues, also called for promoting inter-faith harmony, tolerance, human rights, social justice and peace.

They were speaking at the conclusion of a three-day congregation near here on Monday. ‘Shariah cannot be enforced at gunpoint,’ declared Haji Abdul Wahab, Amir of the Tableeghi Jamaat, Pakistan.

Had that been the case, Allah Almighty would have sent fierce angels to protect prophets and enforce their faiths, he said.

The 90-year-old scholar, who left his job as sessions judge in pre-partition India and joined the Jamaat, cited the example of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), said the Holy Prophet never used force. Instead he spread the word of God only by peaceful means.

Haji Abdul Wahab also condemned extremism and militancy in the name of Islam, apparently a reference to the growing trend of Talibanisation and enforcement of Shria in Swat and other areas in the NWFP.

The congregation of tens of thousands of people was also addressed by Maulana Jamshaid, Maulana Mohammad Ahmed and Mualana Fahim.

‘Muslims should preach peace, brotherhood and tolerance across the world, including Israel. They must avoid imposing their creed or faith by force because Islam is a religion of peace and promotes tranquillity,’ another scholar told the mammoth gathering.

Maulana Mohammad Ahmed, a former educationist, said that Muslims should inspire adherents of other religions by their good moral and social behaviour. People who thought that Shariah could be imposed by force were simpletons, he said.

‘We should reach out to all human beings and guide them out of darkness. Before the advent of Islam, people were so inflexible that they used to bury their daughters without remorse. (But they changed.) Remember …human beings are above other creations of God,’ said Maulana Ahmed, the custodian of the largest seminary of the Tableeghi school of thought in Raiwind near Lahore.

The main message of the gathering was that Islam could not be confined to Pakistan or any other geographical area and there was a need to spread the religion of peace in every corner of the world.

People from across the country who had converged there pledged that they would continue the mission of spreading Islam across the world.

“My wife is constantly bothering me about going with Tabligh Jamat? I do other acts of goodness and don’t really want to join these people. At times she starts to drive me crazy and says I need to do something for the ummah? Please give me some background on this group and tell me how to deal with my wife?”

Tabligh’s Beginnings

Tablighi Jamat represents one of the great efforts to revive the faith of Islam in the hearts of Muslims. Their founder, Mawlana Ilyas (may Allah have mercy on him) was a man of great piety and concern for the Umma. His father was Mawlana Muhammad Ismail (may Allah have mercy on him) who, although a great learned man, was known for drawing water from wells, serving travelers and then offering two rakats of shukr to Allah for blessing him to serve them. He died in 1896 and his funeral prayer was so crowded that it had to be repeated. Shortly after his prayer, a pious man saw him in his dream saying, “Send me off soon. I am feeling ashamed The Holy Prophet is waiting for me.”

His mother, Bibi Safia (may Allah have mercy on her) memorized the entire Qur’an and was known for reading 10 Ajza (parts) of Qur’an every day during the month of Ramadan. She was known for her piety and reverence in worship. She was not only a worshiper of Allah, but she was a Murabiyah, who built and nurtured the young Mawlana and watered him from the blessed spring of Islam. Once, seeing something great in her son’s future, she said to him, “Ilyas, I feel the aroma of the holy Companions in you.” She used to place her hand on his back, and would say, “How is it that I see figures resembling the holy Companions moving along with you?”

The blessed fruit of these noble parents, Mawlana Ilyas, was born in 1885. It was in this home that the Mawlana was raised and nurtured on faith and actions. Once, the Mawlana, describing his grandmother, stated that she had become so engrossed in her worship and dhikr that she stopped eating. It was said to her, “You are old and weak and must eat!” She responded, “I draw sustenance from my tasbihat (remembrance of Allah).” Thus, the young Mawlana was surrounded by pious examples of people who were so attached to Allah that the world attached to them.

The Mawlana memorized the entire Qur’an at a young age and continued his studies of different Islamic sciences. He was known for having an intense presence about him. One day his teacher said to him, “When I see Muhammad Ilyas, I am reminded of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them).” He was known for a strong intellect and excelled his peers in all of his studies. He had a number of great teachers and was blessed to study the works of Bukhari and Tirmithi; however, he was struck by an illness which led to his increase in studies and spiritual devotion.

In 1910 he assumed a teaching position at a famous school. After the death of his two brothers, and almost his own, the Mawlana moved to Dehli and began to teach. There he witnessed the horrible conditions of the Muslim Umma. In fact, it is well known that the Muslims there had adopted Hindu names, forgot their prayers and observed Hindu rights and festivals over their own. Under these conditions the heart of this saint pushed him to act. It was not sufficient for the Mawlana to focus solely on himself, but his true devotion to Allah and the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him pece) led him to openly address the ills of the society. Thus, like the famous scholars before him, he not only focused on the purification of his soul, but the purification of his society and the Muslims around him. Thus, he was led to open a number of schools and educational institutions that focused on reviving the core Islamic teachings amongst the people. It was through this effort that Tablighi Jamat was born.

I’m sure many of our readers are wondering, why the long answer. Let me state that I felt it was an obligation to give them a small glimpse into the life of one of the greatest reformers our Muslim nation has seen in the last 200 years.

Summary of Tablighi Jamat:

Tablighi Jamat is a movement designed to bring faith back into the lives of the Muslims. They focus on five major duties and travel to different locations in order to spread the message of faith and dawa (calling to Allah) to other Muslims. They serve as one of the important alarm clocks whose job is to awaken a sleeping Umma, and remind it of its noble position and tasks. Members are encouraged to go for 3 days in a month, 40 days in a year and, if possible, 4 months in a lifetime.

Answer to the question:

Akhi, I think you should be happy that your wife is complaining that you’re not making dawa, praying, or doing enough for Allah’s deen. It sure beats hearing someone complain about the bills, not having the latest Visa Platinum or a new SUV etc. In fact, such a wife is one of the greatest gifts of Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) said, “This world is nothing but goods. And the best thing in this life is a righteous wife.” Thus, instead of being angry at your wife, you should praise Allah that he has blessed you with her and she is encouraging you to look after your faith.

As was mentioned earlier, Tablighi Jamat serves as one of the many alarm clocks that Allah has used to wake up this umma. There are many such that are working to benefit others and do good in society. All of these groups have good and bad qualities, thus, what is obligated is to follow the truth. The Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) said, “Wisdom is the lost property of the believer.” Thus, one should approach these different groups as one would a fruit garden, examine the fruit and take what is good, If you are able to correct the wrongs found in these groups, based on sound knowledge and wisdom then you should do so. In addition, one of the dangers that any group possesses is a blind fanaticism (ta’assub) which, at times, causes splitting and hatred to appear in the hearts of the believers. It is important to realize that these groups are mere custodians of the umma and not vice versa. Thus, if you are not comfortable with Tabligh, then try and work with another group in your city or location. Islamic work is needed today in the West more than ever. Thus, work with groups who cling to the way of the sunna, avoid extremes on any side, and seek Allah’s assistance.

As for your wife, mention to her the story of Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him): Once a man from the people of renunciation (zuhd) sent him a letter, chastising him for not fasting enough, praying in the night or wearing shabby clothes. The Imam responded by saying, “Allah has distributed actions amongst His servants as He has distributed their sustenance.” Then he mentioned how Allah has placed the love of certain types of worship (ibada) in the hearts of His servants. Thus, you would have a person who loved seeking knowledge, one who loved zuhd and another who loved dawa. The Imam finished his letter by saying, “I have no doubt that you’re on good from your Lord and I’m on good from Him as well.” Thus, you can explain to her, it is very normal for one to be inclined to a certain type of Islamic group. Then, explain to her where your heart leads you and perhaps try to compromise. One night a week you can attend different programs together as a family. Thus, one week for her flavor and the next for yours.

Finally, nicely remind your beloved that it impossible for anyone to know what is in the hearts of Allah’s servants. Thus, if you do something good, she should assume the best and avoid the whispers of Shaytan. The Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) said, “Be careful of suspicion. For, indeed, it is the worst type of speech.”

A Few Points:

1. Mawlana Ilyas (may Allah have mercy on him) did not appear out of a vacuum. Like so many other great luminaries of our umma, the Mawlana was surrounded by wonderful parents who encouraged him to be a great Muslim. Thus, our brothers and sisters should focus on raising the next Imam Shafi’i, Malik or Salah al-din. Therefore, try to teach your children about the Sahaba (may Allah be well pleased with them). Then ask them to choose their favorite. Try to encourage that child to emulate the characteristics of that Sahabi. But remember that the most important lesson they will learn, are those that illuminate from the parents.

2. True tazkiyah leads one past mere focus upon the soul. A true servant of Allah is also concerned with the conditions and situations around him. Ibn Kathir relates that once Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked, “Who is better? One who stays away from others, or one who mingles with others and continues to worship Allah?” Umar said, “Those who mingle with others, put up with their difficulties and continues to worship Allah, “Indeed, they are those whom Allah has tested their hearts for Taqwa.” At the same time mere actions with no inner connection are like an empty cup. Thus, Mawlana Ilyas represented a rare balance of a person. He had a personality built on sound knowledge, sound tazkiyah and sound actions.

3. It is important to realize that the Ahl-Sunna is very wide. It is very dangerous to declare different groups out of Ahl al-Sunna based on one’s mere love for their group. Thus, such issues should be left to the scholars. One thing that one should do is not merely listen to what others say about certain scholars such as Imam Ghazali or Ibn Taymiyya. It is always better to read about their lives and understand the historical and cultural realities that they dealt with.

4. In general it is important to realize that people are different when it comes to different acts of worship. Thus, a truly wise person recognizes this and tries to facilitate the needs of his or her family or community. It is important for MSA’s and masjids to organize programs that benefit all community members. We must move past group politics and work towards realistic unity.

5. The state of the heart is known only to Allah. Thus, questioning another’s intention is something that should be avoided. The great knower of Allah, Junaid (may Allah have mercy upon him), said, “Ikhlas is a secret between Allah and His servant. No angel knows it, nor can any shaytan overcome it.”

6. The virtue of having a pious good fearing wife.

I ask Allah to protect us from ta’assub (blind fanaticism) and hatred. I ask Him to unite the hearts of the umma and make us as one body.

By now all the people in the top floor(which was completely filled) were crying very sadly.

Then he continued.. " Ya Allah ab tuhi hamari hifazath farma... Saari duniya is waqt hamay dekh rahihai, sari duniya ki nazar is waqt hamper hay, har koi ham per ungli utatha hai (Ya Allah, please save guard us, the complete world is watching us, everyone points out fingers at us(well, he didnt mean pointing out the errrors of indivduals)) "

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنِ النَّبِىِّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- أَنَّهُ قَالَ « خَصْلَتَانِ أَوْ خَلَّتَانِ لاَ يُحَافِظُ عَلَيْهِمَا رَجُلٌ مُسْلِمٌ إِلاَّ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ هُمَا يَسِيرٌ وَمَنْ يَعْمَلُ بِهِمَا قَلِيلٌ تُسَبِّحُ اللَّهَ عَشْراً وَتَحْمَدُ اللَّهَ عَشْراً وَتُكَبِّرُ اللَّهَ عَشْراً فِى دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلاَةٍ فَذَلِكَ مِائَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ بِاللِّسَانِ وَأَلْفٌ وَخَمْسُمِائَةٍ فِى الْمِيزَانِ وَتُسَبِّحُ ثَلاَثاً وَثَلاَثِينَ وَتَحْمَدُ ثَلاَثاً وَثَلاَثِينَ وَتُكَبِّرُ أَرْبَعاً وَثَلاَثِينَ إِذَا أَخَذَ مَضْجَعَهُ - فَذَلِكَ مِائَةٌ بِاللِّسَانِ وَأَلْفٌ فِى الْمِيزَانِ. قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ هُمَا يَسِيرٌ وَمَنْ يَعْمَلُ بِهِمَا قَلِيلٌ قَالَ « يَأْتِى أَحَدَكُمْ الشَّيْطَانُ إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ فَيُذَكِّرُهُ حَاجَةَ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَيَقُومُ وَلاَ يَقُولُهَا فَإِذَا اضْطَجَعَ يَأْتِيهِ الشَّيْطَانُ فَيُنَوِّمُهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقُولَهَا ». فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يَعْقِدُهُنَّ فِى يَدِهِ.

Abdullah ibn 'Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet(peace and blessings be upon him) said,
"There are two characteristics that whenever the Muslim maintains them will enter Jannah. These two traits are easy to possess. However, only a few people acquire them. Say " Subhanallah" ten times, "Al-Hamduillah" ten times and "Allahu akbar" ten times at the end of each Salah. By practicing this deed you earn one hundred and fifty rewards for your tongue and one thousand five hundred for the scale (of good deeds). And before you go to sleep say "Subhanallah" thirty three times, Al-Hamdulilah" thirty three times and Allahu akbar thirty four times. By saying these words before you sleep you gain one hundred good deeds for your tongue and one thousand deeds for the scale. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked" Oh messenger, How is that these deeds are easy, yet few people do them? He said," Right after a person finishes praying Shaitan comes to him and reminds him of something that he has to do. Therefore this person gets up and leaves without saying these words. Additionally, when he lies in his bed Shaitan comes to him and causes him to fall asleep before he mentions these words. 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr(may Allah be pleased with him)said , " I saw the messenger of Allah(May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)say these words using his hand to count them.

Collected by Abu Dawud(5065), At-Tirmithi( 3410)Nisa'i(926)and Ahmed(2/205) Imam An-Nawwawee graded the isnad of this hadeeth as being Saheeh and Imam At-Tirmithi said this hadeeth is Hasan Saheeh.

Badrudeen 'Al-'Aynee(855H. May Allah have mercy on him) commented on this hadeeth in his book " Al-Ilmul Hayyab fee Sharhil Kalamee Tayyib." He wrote;

1. Abdullah is: Abdullah ibn'Amr ibn Al-'as

2. The narrator of the hadeeth wasn't exactly sure if he (peace and blessings be upon him)said, "خَصْلَتَانِ أَوْ خَلَّتَانِ"

3.Whenever the Muslim maintains them: Muslims don't acquire these two traits; as they don't practice them deed as a norm.

4.One hundred and fifty for the tongue: If a person says these words after the five daily prayers they will total 150 as 30 X 5= 150

5.One thousand five hundred: Means that every good word which totals 10 is multiplied by 10, so if we sum 150 x 10 we get 1500.

6.Say " Allahu Akbar" thirty four times: This is the second trait. The first one is to say "Subhanallah, Al-Hamdulilah and Allahu Akbar "thirty three times after each obligatory Salah.

7. One hundred good deeds for the tongue: This is earned because "Allahu Akbar is said thirty four times, Al-Hamdulilah is thirty three times and Subhanallah is thirty three times, and the total of those is one hundred. And to multiply one hundred by ten you get a sum of 1,000 for the scale.

8.The prophet(peace and blessings be upon him)used his hands: He counted the number of times he said them with his hand.

9.The companions said," How is it that…? :These two traits aren't acquired by many. In other words they asked how is it that something so easy is neglected; as it's known that when something is easy to do a lot of people do it. Consequently he(peace and blessings be upon him) explained why few people obtain these traits. Shaitan comes to a person when he goes to bed and continues to whisper to the son of Adam until he falls asleep. Also Shaitan comes to a person while he is praying and continues to whispers thoughts and ides that wasn't in his mind before. Therefore he gets up after finishing the prayer and leaves before saying these words.

Benefits derived from this hadeeth:

The invocation and the mention of Allah's names are a means for the servant to enter Jannah.
Good deeds are multiplied by ten or more.
The scale is a fact.
Counting the glorification of Allah is done using the hands.
Shaitan is persistent with his whispers to the son of Adam during prayer and at bed time. ( end of Explanation)

Tabligh and tasawwuf

When we talk about Tabligh, we talk about the most important aspect of it which is going to individuals and meeting them at their places. How does Tasawwuf incorporate this in their day to day activities when this was the main responsibility of every prophet i.e. going to the people.

When TJ folks don't see that in Tasawwuf and they understand the importance of it, they don't give as much attention to doing bayt with a shaykh.

They feel that the purpose of Tasawwuf which is Tazkiyah can be attained through Tabligh so they don't feel the need to do bayt.

So folks....stop whining about Tabligh Jamat not doing enough of Tasawwuf because they are doing much more Tasawwuf than what Tasawwuf folks are doing for Tabligh.

The Man Behind the Armor- A look at the way Salah ad Din Al Ayubi lived

Salah ad-Din al-Ayyubi (Rahimahullah).

He defied the odds in an era of darkness. He set aside the criticism of those who called him crazy for wanting to do the seemingly impossible: uniting the Ummah, standing up to the Crusaders, and returning honor where it belonged. He was respected by both his friends and foes, and is perhaps one of the few men whose name evokes feelings of honor and pride in the minds of so many people in every era and place. Even the generally anti-Muslim film industry in America could not help but portray the honor and righteousness that Salah ad-Din was known for.

We all know of how he laid waste to the Crusaders and had them chasing their tails in the battles of Alexandria, Hittin, Acre, Tyre, Beirut, Nablus, Haifa, Tiberius, Gaza, 'Asqalan, Jerusalem, and dozens of other cities and towns across Sham and North Africa. We know of Salah ad-Din the warrior.

But, who was the man behind the armor? What was he like as a person? What was he like as a Muslim? What personality does it take to carry out such heroic feats and achieve such a status?

In 'al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah' (13/5-6), Ibn Kathir said that at the time of his death, Salah ad-Din hardly had any money in his possession, and this is because:

"…of the immense amount of gifts and charity and kindness that he used to show the leaders and ministers under his command, and even to his enemies! I've already described this previously. And he was very simple in his clothing, food, drink, and transportation. He would only wear cotton, linen, and wool. It is not known that he ever approached anything forbidden or discouraged, especially after Allah blessed him with his kingdom. Rather, his greatest concern and goal was to aid Islam."

Ibn Kathir continued:

"This is all in addition to the virtues and unique skills he possessed in the Arabic language, poetry, and history, such that it was said he had memorized 'al-Hamasah' (a book of poetry compiled by Abu Tammam at-Ta'i) in its entirety.

And he was very strict in praying on time in jama'ah. It is said that he never missed a single prayer in jama'ah for a great part of his life, even during the illness that killed him. The imam would enter and lead him in prayer, and he would struggle to get up and pray despite his weakness."

He continued:

"And he loved to hear the recitation of the Qur'an and the reading of ahadith and knowledge. He was constant and habitual in listening to ahadith being read to him, to the point that he would hear a section read to him while he was standing between the ranks of soldiers! He would enjoy doing this and say: "Nobody listens to ahadith in a situation like this.""

He also mentioned:

"He had a soft heart, and was easily swayed to tears when he would hear ahadith."

He continued:

"And Salah ad-Din was from the bravest of people, and the strongest of them in body and heart despite the illnesses and sickness his body suffered from. This was most evident during the Siege of Acre, where despite the massive numbers of the enemy, he only increased in power and bravery. They had as many as 500,000 soldiers – some say 600,000 – and he killed 100,000 of them."

He also said:

"He was generous, well-rounded, always laughing and smiling. He would never slack off in any good that he did. He was extremely patient when doing good and worshipping Allah."

In 'Siyar A'lam an-Nubala" (15/436), it's mentioned that al-Muwaffaq 'Abd al-Latif said:

"I went to Salah ad-Din while he was in Jerusalem, and I saw a king who filled eyes with amazement and hearts with love, whether they were near or far. He was an easygoing person, likeable, and his companions used to try to imitate him, racing towards good actions, as Allah Said: {"And We removed any sense of pain from their hearts, making them like brothers…"} [al-Hijr; 47]

The first night I spent with him, I found his gatherings filled with scholars engaged in knowledge. He would listen intently and participate in their discussions. He would learn how to build walls and dig trenches, and he would then do this himself, carrying the rocks on his own shoulders."

al-'Imad said in 'as-Siyar' (15/440):

"He would only wear what was permissible to wear, such as linen and cotton. His gatherings were free of vain talk, and they were only attended by the most virtuous people. He loved to hear ahadith being read with their chains of narration. He was forebearing, honest, pious, pure, and trustworthy. He would contain himself and not become angry. He would never turn back someone in need or embarrass someone who spoke in front of him. He was extremely kind and charitable, and he reprimanded me for decorating my utensils in silver, and I replied that Abu Muhammad al-Juwayni mentioned a point of view of it being permissible. And I never saw him praying except in jama'ah."

Also on the same page, Abu Ja'far al-Qurtubi said that when Salah ad-Din was on his deathbed:

"I finished reciting the Qur'an at the verse: {"He is Allah, besides Whom there is none worthy of worship; the Knower of the Unseen and the seen…"} [al-Hashr; 22] and I heard Salah ad-Din saying: "This is true," and he was in a coma before this. He then died, and al-Khatib ad-Dawla'i washed his body. He was brought out in a coffin, and Muhi ad-Din bin az-Zinki prayed over him. He was then returned to the room in the garden where he had been sick and was buried in a kiosk. Voices were raised in crying, and it became so loud that even the smart one would think that the whole world was screaming in a single voice. The people were so overwhelmed that some of them were distracted from praying over him. People expressed their remorse at his passing - including the Crusaders, due to how truthful and trustworthy he was."

adh-Dhahabi said:

"And I never saw a king whose death people were sad for except him. This is because he was loved by everyone: he was loved by the righteous and the wicked, the Muslim and the kafir."

The above descriptions speak for themselves.

This was Salah ad-Din. This was the man behind the armor. This was his lifestyle and character, and it was nothing other than this that served as the platform for the amazing feats across the lands that we remember him for today. It was nothing other than his lifestyle and character that made him the one chosen by Allah out of all his contemporaries to have the vision and do the deeds that would make him such a legend.

And this lifestyle and character is something you find common between all of the legends of Islam we have today, be they scholars or Mujahidin. You always find them paying great attention to the following: daily recitation of the Qur'an, studying of the Shari'ah, giving tons of charity, preventing a single useless word (let alone harmful or obsene) from coming out of their mouths, and living simple lives free of luxury and excessive comfort. Believe it or not, some of us actually look at these things as difficult, boring, and lacking excitement, and we ignore them out of an inability to comprehend how these would be linked to the heroic deeds that these legends became known for. However, there is no way around it: it was this lifestyle alone that made it possible for these people to live for something greater than themselves – for Islam. There is no way you can dream of defending the Shari'ah if you don't even have the willpower to implement it on a daily basis in your own life.

One more thing should be mentioned: he wasn't always like this. adh-Dhahabi said in 'as-Siyar' (15/434 and 436):

"Since his time as a ruler, he had abandoned alcohol and worldly pleasures."

"He used to drink alcohol, and then repented from it."

That's right. Salah ad-Din al-Ayyubi – this righteous man who singlehandedly changed the course of history – loved to drink and indulge in the dunya before he decided to take on the Crusaders. This small fact teaches us a mighty lesson: not everyone is born into a life of taqwa. The great people we love and admire who are out there were not always so great, and this gives you hope no matter how insignificant or lost you think you are that you can become something truly great one day.

Assalamua'laikum

I begin in the name of Allah

These are some of the notes i happen to write in the speech of Moulana Ibrahim Dewla. This speech was delivered in the gathering where there were almost all of the elders of various states all over India.

Ml. Ibrahim Dewla is the top scholar of tabligh

and the people he was talking to were those who spend their lives in tabligh

SubhanAllah what type of words he is telling to them

1. Jahalat ka muqaabla akhlaq say karo

(When some one talks to you in a bad way, then behave with him in a well manner)

2. Burai ko bhalai say duur karo

(When you see something bad(commiting sin) in a person, then remove that bad habit with good words)

3. Ye kaam vasila hai, asal kaam sunnat aur shariah pay chalna hai, jaisay wazu vasila hai namaz ka

(The work of tabligh is a means, while the important work is to follow sunnah and shariah, just as doing wadhu is a means for praying salah)

4. Kaam may Quality hona chahiye, quantity nahi (yes, he said those words in english :) )

(There should be quality in work, not quantity)

5. Deen may jitni qhobi paida ki jaasakti hai, karna chahiye

(We should try to reach the highest possible status in islam)

6. Apnay sathi kay andar sifaat lana, bahut badi zimmedaari hai

(Bringing the qualties of islam in our friends is a very great responsibility)

7. Jiskay paas Taqwa hai, unka kaam khubool hoga

(Who has fear of Allah, only their work is accepted)

8. Vasail ko karna hai taakay asal tak pahunch jaaye, agar vasail may hi pad jayengay toh phir deen ek rasam banjayega, jo sirf dikhanay kay khabil hoga.

(We should adpot means(work of tabligh) to reach the target(following sunnah and shariah), if we just follow means, then islam will become ritual, which will be just for showing others)

9. Hamaray pass sachai hai, dikhawa nahi, isi ki inshaAllah Allah tareef karega

(We have the truth, not showing off. Allah will inshaAllah praise this)

10. Kaam phaylana alag hai, aur jaan padna alag hai, hamay kaam may jaan chahiye. Mawiya RaziAllahu anhu kay zamanay may deen khoob phela, lekin Umar RaziAllahu anhu kay zamanay may jaan thi. Hamaray kaam may jaan ho

(Spreading the work is a different thing and developing potential in the work is a different thing. In the time of Mawiya RaziAllahu anhu, islam was spread very much. But in the time of Umar RaziAllahu anhu there was potentiality in islam. We need potential work)

11. House may paani jaha say jaata hai, waha mehnat karna chahiye

(The place where the water leaks from the tank, we have to work on that part)

14. Yaha loug kaam samajnay aatay hai, toh unko samhalnay waalay chahiye

(People come here to understand tabligh, so we need people to server them)

15. Jab logoun ko kaam samjao gay, toh nustath paida hogi deen ki

(When you teach people about the work of tabligh, then they will also help in spreading the islam)

16. kaam waha accha hoga jaha koi poochnay wala nahi

(The work will be done better, where people dont even ask you)

17. Mehnath magsad kay liye hoti hai, mehnath mehnath kay liye nahi hoti. Tabligh chalnay phirnay kay liye nahi, deen ko zindagi may laanay kay liye hai

(The work is done to get some result, work is not done just because we have to work. Tabligh is not just for moving here and there, its to bring islam in our lives)

18. kaam ho na ho, ummat phatna nahi chahiye.

(Even if the work of tabligh is not done, one shouldnt divide ummah)

19. Allah say kaam ki basirath maangna chahiye

(We should ask Allah for understanding of tabligh)

20. Bayroon ka safar shouk kay liye math karo, warna jamath tut jaye gi

(Do not travel to foreign countries just for your liking, else the jamath will not function properly)

NEW DELHI: Maulana Mohammed Ilayas, who exhorted Muslims to become true Muslims ( Aye Musalmano, Musalman bano ), founded Tablighi Jamaat (TJ) in 1920s in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area. TJ has since emerged as a leading Muslim revivalist movement with presence in nearly 80 countries.

Though it is difficult to put a number to the growing Tablighis, some idea about its reach and influence can be had from the fact that at least 100 of their Jamaats - each comprising 10 to 12 members - fan out of the Markaz (the international headquarters of Tablighi Jamaat in Nizamuddin) to different parts of the country, and overseas every day.

Throughout its seven-decade existence, Tablighi Jamaat (TJ) has sought to discreetly go about its business - which requires its members to travel to different places for missionary activities.

But, now that it has come under international scrutiny for alleged links to global terror, TJ has turned somewhat introvert, wary of too much contact with the outside world.

The Markaz, which is stone’s throw from the mausoleum of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, is a four-storeyed structure with space for prayers on all the floors. It has a modest office, a madarasa and rooms for guests from India and abroad.

The complex remains cramped, and is packed to capacity throughout the year. The third floor of the complex is exclusively for foreigners.

It is from the Delhi Markaz that Jamaats (groups) are sent across the country to remind Muslims of the need to persist on the path of Allah.

The duration of a Jamaat work varies from three to 40 days. During tours, they remain inside mosques and go door-to-door, asking people to come for prayers and listen to bayan (sermons), so that they develop the urge to follow the path of salvation. Every Jamaat is led by a leader or Emir.

The Markaz keeps a record of every Jamaat in the country, and is a strongly centralised group headed by a two-member Shura. The Shura comprises Maulana Saad Kandhalawi and Maulana Zubair.

The destination of a Jamaat is decided through Mashwara (consultation) with the Shura.

Tablighis say that Sunati Rasullaha (Prophet’s way of life) is the Jamaat’s code of conduct. While dress code isn’t binding, they prefer to clothe themselves in the style of the Prophet: Loose overalls.

While the Tablighis claim that anybody can join a Jamaat, the process, in reality, is cumbersome: A prospective member must have his identity verified from his local mosque.

Maulana Yousuf Saloni of the Delhi Markaz describes Tabligh centres as spiritual hospitals. “Why do you go to a hospital? Hospitals treat medically unwell people. Similarly, we treat spiritually sick people.”

Asked about the alleged Tablighi connections of Kafeel Ahmed, who was pulled out of a burning jeep in the failed UK terror plot, Saloni says, “You can’t understand religion in days or weeks. It takes years to understand religion. These terrorists don’t understand the message of the Almighty and resort to violence. They have no understanding of the religion, that’s why they are bringing a bad name to religion.”

According to Saloni the hard times facing the Muslims worldwide is God’s way of teaching them a lesson. “They are moving away from God and his religion, and are hence being subjected to humiliation, suspicion and disgrace, all over the world.”

Most people who come to the Markaz are well off; it is not an organisation of illiterate and poor; among its main promoters are well-known religious scholars, businessmen, executives, professors, doctors, engineers, government servants and students.

A Tablighi says, “Let me give you an example of what Tabhligi life is like: we have a member, who retired as chief vigilance officer of the DDA. At the time of his retirement, he had nothing - no car, no house, even as his juniors have amassed ever material comfort. A Tablighi remains steadfast on the path of Allah and does not seek personal fortune.”

Twenty-one-year-old Shahid Azam from Gorakhpur says there’s no reason for one to believe the propaganda against Tabligh.

Of the Tablighis, he says, “They are trained to be mild-mannered. What they will do is just greet you, and enquire about the reasons of your absence from the mosque, and ask you to come to the mosque for prayers.”

While most members are reluctant to speak to the media, Dawood, an Ethiopian, is more candid. He says that TJ is about religion and nothing else. “The Jamaat will come to you. They will tell you some disciplines of Islam - how a true Muslim should live.”

He says that whatever is being done in the name of Jihad is terrorism.

“This has put us in deep trouble. People don’t trust us. I have come to Delhi from Hyderabad, to renew my passport. But, nobody is willing to give me a hotel room. It is clearly mentioned in Quran, come what may, you can’t attack non-combatants, women and children. There is no religion that tells you to kill innocent people. The business of international terror is for land and not religion.”

How women move in tabligh ?

1. one is eligible to travel in masturath jamath to far of places(within tthe country) only when the mahram has spent minimum 40 days and women should have spent atleast 10 days or 3 days for 3 or more times(dont exactly remember)

2. all should gather at the khawatin manzil (a special place(mostly houses) only for women to gather, which is present in every halqa or division). i.e the mahram will come and leave his wife at the house and he will go to the masjid which is nearby and all men gather there to do mashwara

3. while leaving for a station or airport, the mahram goes to the house where women stay and take his partner to the station (most of the time vehicles of local sathis are used for this purpose)

4. while travelling they should sit with their mahram, for example like in a bus the women should sit near window side and man on general side

5. after reaching the destination, again the women travel to khawatin manzil along with their mahrams and the men then go to the masjid near by

if the mahram is husband, then husband is allowed to sleep with his wife in turns, i.e if two are more pairs are present, they are allowed to get together one after another based on the capacity of seperate rooms khawatin manzil has and it should have minimum of one

if the mahram is daughter or sister then the mahram can meet her anytime when there is no ijtemai amal

in this way the mahrams meet with their partners almost every day

so where are they left alone, away from their mahrams ??

khawatin manzils are the most secure places for any women traveller to stay in, they are mainly houses in which a seperate flat is given for jamats and the family of that house also stays there, manzils are not seperate houses or flats where only women have to stay, even the other members of halqa stay with them

i have seen masturat jamaats travelling in a van with a male driver and their mahram in a seperate vehicle to and from the destiination

answer:

if the vehicle resources are less, then they might have gone, but atleast one of the mahrams will travel with them

i have also seen each pair(10 couples(2 jamaths)) brought in a seperate vehicle to the markaz

its a common practice that women travel in autos and rikhshaws. atleast here they are having their mahrams following the vehicle

Nonsense dowry system

the dowry system in the sub-continent is a wrath on muslims.
it has gone so far that the parents have started to save dowry for a daughter the time she is born.

these two incidents have made me wondered and i felt i would go and slap them left and right

1. my mom was telling a relative of ours called an another relative and said that some one in her relatives wanted to marry their daughter, she straight aaway first asked how much dowry are they willing to give, interestingly my aunt said we are not at all interested in such people

2. another close relative of mine has a single daughter, she is going to be married to a bit religious family, thought they havent asked anything, this brides mother is doing over acting, she is giving her many new things like laptop and all, creating a new extra bidah and burden to others. to show my discontent, i have decided to just meet the bride groom in function all, and come back, i am not going to eat or drink anything there and not even stay more than 10 minutes. first of all i am ashamed to even go there, but since they are my close relatives i have to go orelse i am afraid it would break tie ups

it really makes me wonder to what stage muslims have fallen to, instead of showing my silent discontent, i cant do anything, but inshaallah i feel my showing of this open discontent will surely bring change among others

i pray that Allah save us all from this system and give us ability to lead a simple and happy isamic way of life

yes and it makes me very sad when i see this so called rich people spending lacks of rupees for their marriages

even the so called deeni muslims are indulged in this barbaric activity

it is just like throwing away the girls from their houses by paying extra amount of money to their husbands, such marriages hardly turn out to have enjoyable life later and for every need the husband will turn to brides family, in another incident i heard even for the gas connection they took the money from brides family, i wonder to what level this beggars will still fall

like in second story, if such people change then it will be easier to change the others

my heart still says, i shoudnt attend that marriage, but they are very close relatives of mine

the only solution i found very useful for this and i am implementing practically is

1. youngsters should strongly oppose this system (especially males)
2. when ever the talk of dowry comes, use some harsh comments like
- he want to live on money of his wife
- he cant even spent on his wife, so he takes the amount from her father
- he is a beggar
- he is impotent etcc..
p.s: only males should use such language against other brothers who take, when we start using such comments, others who wish to take dowry will feel ashamed

3. brothers shouldnt accept any thing from brides even if they want to give happily
4. brothers should do marriage in masjid and distribute dates to all attendees and disperse
5. valima can be done by calling our direct uncles and aunts at home
6. we should stop spreading the excuse " it is permissible to do according to our standard". we should remember that others follow what we do and others may not have the standard as we have

and very important: sisters too should let their desire of wearing so much jewelry and costly costumes for marriages and they should also force their families and friends to cut down the unnecessary costs for marriages

p.s i have decided to end my marriage within 10,000(around 200 US dollars) from my side and zero rupees from brides side

Assalamualaikum

Since last night my young son has been unwell. When I got back from Work this evening I decided to take him to hospital despite my exhaustion.

There were many waiting; perhaps we will be delayed by more than an hour. I took my number and sat down in the waiting room. There were many faces, young and old, but all silent. Some brothers made use of the many booklets available in the waiting room. A young man grabbed my attention. He was reading a pocket-sized Qur`an continuously; not raising his head even once. At first I did not think much about him. However, after one hour of waiting my casual glances turned into a deep reflection about his lifestyle and how he utilizes his time. One hour of life wasted! Instead of making benefit of that hour, it was just a boring wait. I talked to him and he told me that most of our time is wasted without any benefit. These are days that go from our lives without being conscious of them or regretting their waste. He said that he started carrying the pocket-sized Qur`an around when a friend encouraged him to make full use of his time. He told me that in the time other people waste he gets to read much more of the Qur`an than he gets to read either at home or in the masjid. Moreover, besides the reward of reading the Qur`an, this habit saves him from boredom and stress.

My thoughts were interrupted by the nurse calling out my number; I went to the doctor. But I want to achieve something now. After I left the hospital I quickly went to the bookshop and bought a pocket-sized Qur`an. I decided to be mindful of how I spend the time.

And see the strength of the Prophets, that is why the scholars say the one who is Da’i (who calls towards Islam), who does tabligh, who calls towards deen, then he also requires that strength that he should learn from the sunnah of Prophets, that they don’t argue

It is not that u get angry, otherwise u say to a man u r a human, u r not the prophet and u r telling lies. And the prophet is with same calmness, strength and they say “our Rab knows it; we are really the Prophets of Allah”

And also listen to this “ our duty is to clearly explain u about Allah, that’s it”. If u don’t want to accept, its ur wish.

That’s why the mufassireen has written, if the kafir gave a thought just on the dawah of Prophets they would understand everything. That they don’t take any income for that, they don’t take anything from us and still they are giving us a message, then why will such a man tell lies.

How many people are there in Europe, America and in the countries of Africa, and the far away countries, when the people of tabligh jamath reach them and when those people see them, they meet them, they ask them why u have come, ticket is urs, food is urs, sleeping material is urs and everything u require u bring urself. And when they say we have come with some message, we have brought the message of Islam. We want that all the our brothers and sisters who are human should be saved from hell, we have come for u . Then those people will startled.

In the same way once people of tabligh jamat went to a place, they saw a masjid, It is the habit of those poor people where ever they go they stay in masjid. And some people don’t allow them to stand in masjids, may Allah guide them, then they will search for the other places and make their own arrangements.

However when they went there, the masjid was of qadianis, because this fitna is spreading all over the world today may Allah forgive us. Yesterday I was reading this was the news from India that a woman sold her child for 4000 rupees. That mother who cant bear her poverty and sold her own child, give her 2 lakh rupees and make her qadiani, Christian what ever u like.

Now u see in countries like bosnia, chechan and where ever muslims are being killed in the name of war. And their small children, who are taking them, Christians, ngos,.
Christians and they even show sympathy, see these are small children and they will die. Have they come to show sympathy ?. but when they take a milk drinking children what do u think when he grows up he will become muslim.

You stay here(Mecca) , , it’s the greatness of Allah, u r doctor, u have good salaries, u have respect and u have vehicles and everything. In this period how many people did u deliver the message of islam.

In NGO’s there was a woman who came to Afghanistan and worked and she made 90,000 afghanis Christians. Did u ever thing what our women do sitting in the house. Ah yes, we have salaries, we work and then go and sleep. Bring food eat and sleep.

We are the slaves of our stomach, and we want all luxuries.

May Allah shower His blessings, what have Prophets gone through, say with emaan, u go to some one and u say to him I came to give u dawah of deen, and he says go u liar. What will u go through, bring this thing into ur mind. U will read quran and go way oh! They said Prophet was a liar.

I mean the Prophet of Allah, in ur country just say to a scholar that he is telling lies, one scholar or tell to a small political leader that he is telling lies, by evening ur clan will not be found in that area (5.39)

What will be the greatness of Prophets of Allah, that a person is standing in front of him and saying ur a liar and the Prophets are saying “ ok! Even if u don’t agree my Allah knows I am the Prophet”. And we have come to u to give a message. So when the people of tabligh jamath went to that masjid, the imam first didn’t accept but later he permitted. He said “ u can stay in my masjid but since we are qadianis and ur Ahle-sunnat and ur against our madhab, ur not going to do any tabligh, any dawah or read anything in my masjid, u can just stay just for a night, and this masjid was in around Canada. They said its ok.

The amir said see we cant give dawah here, in the morning where we go we will do dawah but in the tahajjuth cry and pray for this people infront of Allah. And do dua for this imam, see how nice person he is, he has atleast allowed to stay for a night. And now in tahajjuth all are crying and the imam sahib is seeing them by hiding and he thought why they are taking my name. why they are doing dua for me.

After three days they said , wassalamua'laikum we are going. The imam said, ok! If u don’t tell to anybody then I will also come with u for one or two days. He went with them. In the night he saw a dream and he was said “ till now u didn’t understand what is truth and what is false “ and he got up crying and immediately he read shahadah and became muslim. That one person then did work of deen among all the people who came to that masjid and the families around masjid who became qadianis and with the work of that one imam many families became again muslim

Yes its true that there is a grave in masjid area, but not in place where we read salah. the grave was actually outside of masjid, but when the masjid was extended, they had to take that area inside in order to get extra place, as the roads cover from all sides as seen in picture.

but a room was built around the grave and no one can even imagine that grave is present there. in is completely fake video, bcoz when the building was built as shown in picture, by this time the grave was completely closed and i wonder from where did this guy got the picture of grave which is so open. though the room has a small window, which is always locked, it is closed from all four sides with no openings except a small window. and this room is completely backside to the salah area

its really unfortunate that people spread false information in order to get own benifits

We dont know in what condition our Iman would eventually end up in, that is why we should fear and place our hope in Allah subhanahu wa Ta'ala regarding our Iman. When a kuffar is born in kufr, raised in kufr, lived in kufr then to die in kufr is usual. And Allah Ta'ala is Most Merciful Most Kind, He granted some of those who has lived their lives in kufr to die in Iman. But for a born muslim like us, mukmin like us, who lives by the teachings of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam, who evryday wakes up with Iman and goes to bed with Iman, we nonetheless should still fear, because among those who has lived their lives in Iman, there are still those who died without Iman.
That is why the effort on Iman is critical.

Throughout our lives we have been blessed with countless nikmats(blessings) from Allah subhanahu wa Ta'ala.. and Iman is the biggest nikmat a believer can ever have. That is why the effort on Iman is essential.

New pets

my alltime favourite pets are pigeons, when i was small we had more than 20 in my home and we have shifted to a new house and it doesnt have open place, my mother strongly disapproves if i say that i am going to bring some pets, still this time i am planning to get a pair of fan tail pigeons, i am much confused about the color, though i like white, the problem is they get dirt on them soon and look ugly, now we cant make them bath by force you seee, they should have that commonsense of when to take a bath :)

now that i have said, i am gonna get this one, my old memories have brought tears into my eyes, so let me show you what i had as pets when i was small

1. pigeons - around 20
we had many colorful normal pigeons and my dream was to buy a fantail, which are costlier and as a child i wouldnt have efforted that much then. and my mom used to be angry with the one i already had

2. geese - around 10 to 15 (yes, we also had a swimming pool for them), and we also had those cutie yellow babies, fortunately everyone in my family liked them, when we were removing away all these geese since we had to go to new house, finally we had only one pair with one cutie small geese, a man came to even take them away, he brougt a small basket to keep that cutie in, when he kept that inside, it jumped out and came into my home again, as i loved them so much and i was a child, i started to cry like a mad, there were relatives in my house and all of them couldnt control me, oh! man i am getting emotional even now, inshaAllah i will also get them, but from where i will get those old one which i had from the day i really had consiousness :(

other story i had to tell about this, we had all white cheese, they were also present in my school but they were colorful one, so my school people asked me to exchange one colorful one with a white, i agreed. they came and took one white cheese from my home and kept one colorful one, in lunch i used to go to the place where these were kept, so that white one would come and stand near me and shout and it used to be away from other cheese, i saw that for four or five days, then i asked my school people that i want to take away my cheese, i said to them the one which you kept isnt taking any food and is becoming weak, first they didnt agree but later i asked them again and again and one day i took it away to my home, i was talking it in an open rikhshaw, when i was about half kilometer away from my home, the cheese with me again started to shout, when we came a bit near, now the one at home also started to shout, that cheese with me jumped down from the rikhshaw and it flew away to my home, yes they can fly, if they fly near by the ground, u can see the particles on ground moving, i felt so much happy that day and it was one of my happiest moment of my life
(kindly note: these geese looks so cute, but these are dangerous birds, i can say, they are just like equal to keeping dogs, when some one came to our house, we had to go upto the entrance to get them, people would fear that much of them, if a geese hits us with its wing, then that part of the body doesnt feel any sense for hours, there are also chances that it may rip your flesh off with its peak)

3. ducks - four
we had only four ducks and the main problem with them was they would lat eggs in the pool

4. hens -many varities, more than 15

yeah we had a so much of space in our old house, but the new one also has same area but its all built ( and i hate it:( ),

i feel so much happy today, because i went back to my happy childhood days, and now that i have grown up, no body will stop me from getting those again :)

Women in Islam, Respect given by Allah

Oh! My daughters please read the Quran; I wish you read it,
Please listen to Quran of Allah, the respect Allah has given to you.
I wish you understand,
What has Europe given to you, what west has given to you, they have given you shamelessness, they have made you sell your bodies, they have hung you in the markets, they have dipped you in alcohol. Its Islam, which has made you sit on the sky. But there should be someone who could read it. But when you keep the spectacles of kufr (i.e you see as the things as non-believers), then how you will understand Quran.
Not only this, listen ahead my friends, listen to Allah’s Quran, the respect it has given
Verse:
Allah says: those who find fault (tohmath, aib) with the pure wives, innocent wives, believing wives, those who say they have done zina, for such people there is La,nath of Allah In this world and in the here after and they have a heavy punishment

Imagine the position the women has near Allah, Allah says the pure women and the innocent women, who doesn’t know any chalaki of this world, and the women who believe Allah and his prophet, if some one charges such women then Allah says, there is wrath of Allah on them in this world and the hereafter and they have a heavy punishment.

With this Allah has opened two rulings in the Quran

if some person charges a women with zina, may Allah forbid. Saying she drinks alcohol or something, its not that, but saying she has indulged in zina, because in islam, the biggest important thing is the respect of women. That is why the disbelievers have removed the importance of women. For them women are just like a cup of tea, now one drinks from that cup after sometime some other drinks, then again wash and keep it, what valve do they give to women. Near them its just that there should be no quarrel, both should be always raazi. That people who say zina is a business, what should we explain to them about the status of women. Even now if you go to the European countries and those dirty places and markets, some women there feel its business, infact there will be advertisements and telephone numbers of women and addresses. And in that adds they write In such a way about women that a man from period of jahilaya also cannot read it. This is the respect of women (the non-believers give). What do such people know of women ?. they say we have given respect to women,

so, the two rulings are

1. if some person charges a pure women and believing women of fornication. Then what should he do, he should either bring witness, he should prove that the charge he has made is true. It not that you say what ever you like. But my brother in such community where zina is not zina, in the community where sin is not a sin, it is a business. Once I was going with a friend in his vehicle, I always make fun with him, when I sat inside, he locked the doors. I said with fun to him,do you think I will run away from your car, why are you locking the door. He said maulana if I don’t lock the door, then at traffic signals, women will come and sit inside, then they will tell you to give money, otherwise they will shout and charge you with false accustations. Now where the situation is like this, how they will know what is a women. Where for playing juwa there is women, to make drink there is a women. Then what will happen to them.
Its with the eye of justice if you see islam then you will understand,
If a person charges a pure women with fornication and cant produce a witness, then the punishment in islam is, this punishment is not given by a normal jury but the Quran of Allah.
Verse:
Allah says, who charge pure women with fornication and after charging they cant produce four witness

You would not have looked over this thing, but please concentrate, on the biggest of the biggest issues, even if the issue is of billions, we have only two witnesses

But when the issue of womens image has come, Allah says two witness are not sufficient, we need four witness, the women is so expensive that even the billions of rupees cant compete with her. Money may come back after sometime, but when the respect of women is taken away, how can it be returned, who can return it

Then Allah says, if he cant bring four witness, then beat him 80 lashes. Because he has made a false accusation without proof.

Even after beating the punishment is not over, Allah says until he is alive, we shouldn’t consider his witness, he is the worst man and his witness shouldn’t be taken in future.

If he repents then Allah will forgive him

2. now if someone charges his own wife, see it is not a game to say anything about a women, even though she is your wife

if he charges his wife and couldn’t bring four witness, then he should stand infront of people and say for four times “ If I have told false then may Allah send his wrath on me” and fifth time he should say “I get the la’nath of Allah “

This is the respect of women, this is the importance of women, this is the position of women, that no body can open their mouth over women. No body can charge her without any reason, even though she is the wife, no body can talk what ever he likes about her. If Allah gives strength please read the sur-e-nur as many times as you can and see the respect Allah has given to women in Islam.

If Allah gives us understanding and in our heart we have the importance of Allah’s Quran, I mean if we understand the position of Quran and the sayings of Allah.
Quran is the complete and wonderful book Allah has sent to us. That is why I say if someones name comes on the kings tongue then there will be some importance of the person of whom the king is talking.

Allah has spoken specially of women in this Quran, In which there are facts about the Prophets, in which Allah has given his orders and his likings, with this Quran Allah has raised the humans from their dirty lives upto the skies

In such a book, if Allah has spoken of women. What can be the big reference than this that the women have the great position near Allah

I wish the women could understand, see one child always wants to go and play outside, he also wants to do swimming, and go and ride the bike on the river side, it doesn’t mean that if they are not allowed by their parents, then the child is not independent. A small boy is there and what ever he gets in his hand he catches it and suppose there is a knife in his hand, then how the parents run towards him, to take off that knife, now are they taking away his human rights, do we say if he is taking the knife then let him beat with it where ever he likes. If our commonsense is locked, if we keep the name of behayayi as freedom and if we keep the name of selling of bodies of women as right of human, then we cant even do the matam of this

Trying to be extra-ordinary, a path to misleading

so i am a bit free now, and i was thinking about our state today

so i got a thought and i went back to the speech i heard many years ago, which was delivered by makki al-hijazi

so his point was, today muslims (especially who are inclined towards religion) are trying to be extra-ordinary, because they want to show that they have a good understanding of islam or they have more knowledge. so because of this when a normal discussion goes on, they bring in such a topic, which the ulema and the salaf have neglected for the reason that laymen may get confused.
they use this thing even in the speeches

and i feel even we have such a thinking, even on this forum (yes, even me)

so moulana said eventually we will go out in finding out such extra-ordinary things (which were neglected by the elders) and leave the original things we require for us. thus the outcome is the misleading from the true religion and getting the deviant thoughts

p.s: i have now realised that, by having such thought, if they dont get deviat atleast they make others get such deviant thoughts

Every thing on earth we see, is created by someone or other, if there we say it came by itself then we wont believe it.
For example, we two are walking in the forest,
we see a barren home there in the center of forest,
if i say it came here by itself, then u will not believe me,
inturn u will say to me how can this home come here by itself, no doubt someone has built it,
i will say, what is the proof that some one has built it, can u see any human around, or any sign of human existence here ?
then who is going to build this home here, then u will tell to me this important point, " listen to me carefully, if human is not present here, it doesnt mean he didnt build this one, because we are seeing a thing which cant be created by itself, surely some human happen to come here and he prepared this home and now he went away from here, so there is no body around "

now similarly, if we see on this earth, there is life and many other things, how did they come here, by themselves ?, ok if at all there was a bang and life came to existence, then the bang took place from a solid substance and chemicals, and if changes came and then life came to existence from that bang, then think for a moment, can a solid substance be changed into life or a chemical substance can be changed into life, its an open challenge to all scientists who have lived to date and are going to come, can they prepare a living thing ?, no they cant, they cant even create a living thing of size of a mosquito. Then when a single home which is not living thing cant come into existence in the forest, then how can the living thing which has so much sophisticated function with brain controlling all the parts itself, and telling u what to do and what not to do, can come by itself. Surely there is some one who has created us and controlling all these things.

Its only Allah who can create it, and He doesn’t require any process to do that, he just says “ kun (be)” and thing will come into existence. This is the same Allah to whom Jews pray, who claim to be followers of Musa (Moses), who was sent by Allah. This is the same Allah to whom Christians say is the father of Isa (Jesus) , and he was also sent by same Allah, and this is the same Allah whom all the religions say there is only one God, but yet they cant make distinction between a human like them, who gets ill and dies and the One who is clean of those things.

Finally a saying of Hazrath Ali , he said “ I thought of doing some things, though I want to do it, I couldn’t do those things, and I thought of not doing somethings, though I really didn’t want to do them but I ended up doing them. On this I was sure that what ever I cant do what ever I like, but Allah makes us do what he likes”

And the above saying is not just the experience of Ali , every human being faces this thing, every human likes to do somethings, though they want to do it, they cant do that. Why ?, if every thing is automatic like worlds creation and other things and doesn’t need control of anybody, then why is that we cant do what ever we think of doing, I am not talking of things which we like to do and don’t have resources, but I am talking of things of which we have total ability to do and yet we cant do, if everything depends on our thinking and determination, then why cant we complete those things.

Sunnah way of Personal Security

just sometime a ago, a woman was telling her servant that we are leaving home for 5 days and even our son will be going to job from morning to evening etc...

so i informed her about this and though of sharing here too, it may benifit some

well the point i want to talk was about personal security, when can we be secure from others plans and actions

we can only be secure when others dont know about us, for example no one knows our identity on sunniforum, now if i scold somebody here, he cant hurt me since he doesnt know me.

so Prophet Mohammed (saw) has taught us by his actions and sayings, that we can be secure only if hide our information from others, we can see this mainly when Prophet was going in the path of Allah. He would never let anyone know where he is going. He would say in the last moment, that we are going to this place, thus he wouldnt give any chance to enemy spy to know the information, and we know once the spy gets the information then its like revealing everything to the enemy. the enemy will prepare all way possible to fight the muslim army.

so we have to apply the same thing here, if we want to be secure from actions of others, we shouldnt reveal our information. for example the lady above revealed all the information about when they are going and coming to the servant, there is every possibilty for servant to plan anything like stealing something from the house etc...

not only this, we can be apply this to our business or anything

" IF YOU WANT TO BE SECURE, DONT REVEAL YOUR INFORMATION TO OTHERS "

revealing information is like creating means(azbaab) for our loss, so hide the information and do dua, Allah is the saviour

A new muslim story

I’m the only revert in my family and most of them don’t even know it yet. I’ve always felt drawn to this path.

“There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path.”(2:256)

My religious upbringing? Sunday school with my grandparents (who my mother and I lived with at the time) until I was 5. Then my “father” decided that he did want visitation rights and so began my trials. Every weekend subjected to beatings, verbal abuse, molestation and eventually rape. My father’s grandmother trying to teach me how to read Tarot, using me as the medium during séances, trying their hardest to turn me away from God.

And they did. I was broken, I thought surely if God allows them to do these things to me then he must have abandoned me if he ever existed at all. I cried out again and again, but the only response I ever received to my tears and pleas was “You’re so pretty when you cry.” from my father and his family.

For many years I felt abandoned and lost. Many ask me why I didn’t just tell my mother what they had been doing to me, but its the same reply you hear from most victims. I was being threatened. I was told that if I said anything to my mother that, oh no they wouldn’t kill me or her, but that she would kill them. That her killing them would send her directly to hell and eventually they started to say that if she killed them because of what I said that I would go to hell because my baby brother would be forced to grow up without a mother.

So there I was, lost in family and in faith. In the news I’d hear of another criminal accepting Jesus and getting basically a get out of jail free card. What kind of religion is that I asked? Would accepting Jesus give my father a one way ticket to Heaven, just because he said he was sorry? Did Christianity give people a pass to sin? It seemed that way to me. How could I accept the Bible as the word of God faced with this idea? Well, I couldn’t and I never have.

I started to seek out other religions, I couldn’t follow the paths of my family. For a long time I was a “pagan” (even though I only ever had one god), trying different rituals to see if it would make the pain go away. Will this ritual make the memories go away, make the nightmares stop? They never did.

I found my way to Islam eventually though. In school we had a class called “World Religions”. The teacher was a Baptist Christian, didn’t really paint the best picture of Islam, but he didn’t outright talk down about it. I took it upon myself to ask critical questions, the other kids were content with just breezing through the course for an easy “A”, but I couldn’t just sit there and accept everything he was telling us.

I went home and asked similar questions to my mother, told her the things he was saying. She told me he was unfounded and incorrect. She encouraged me to seek out the truth and in doing so I ordered my free Quran. It didn’t come for weeks, but when it did I couldn’t have been happier.

It was beautiful, the calligraphy on the cover was incredible, but the words inside where even greater. From the very first Surah I knew this was the truth. The unchanged word of God, unlike the many versions of the Bible.

Around this time though I was going through a lot of turmoil, at home and at school. On weekends and weekdays. I stopped my religious searching for a number of years, still feeling depressed and broken. Eventually though I came back to Islam, probably through one of the more obscure channels.

It was my “Paganism” that lead me back to the right path. I had begun researching religions again, this time comparing all kinds of religions and if you would believe, one little question really pushed me right back to Islam.

“Can non-muslim women wear hijab?” I asked this on a multi-faith forum, to which one reply directed me to Sunniforum.com for the answer. There I received such wonderful answers, such kindness, respect. It overwhelmed me. Seeing others talk to each other like they are a part of a larger community, brothers and sisters, brought together through faith. I couldn’t turn away, I still can’t. I’m an almost constant lurking on those forums. I learned so much about Islam through the people there, through their kindness, their words, their willingness to help a non-muslim. It was astounding. I’d been to many Christian forums before and the moment I had mentioned I was not a Christian I was told how I was going to burn in hell if I didn’t convert right there on the spot.

Not there though, no. One of the first replies was the quote from the Quran that I have at the top of this page. That there is no compulsion in religion, God has made truth stand out from error.

Alhamdulillah, it was the kindness and compassion, to someone who wasn’t even a part of Islam from members of that community that Allah lead me back to his path.

there is no particular order as some people say these days that first we should read istegfar then durood then third kalima by giving some reasons, maybe their ulema have said so

what most elders suggest is
1. third kalima
2. durood
3. isteqfar, all for atleast 100 times

Adab

1. while doing zikr we should know the original meaning and understand the meaning of word in arabic(like subhanallah)
2. we should bring in our heart the meaning of arabic kalima and know the power behind that kalima (like allahuakbar), we should know how much great is Allah and what all Allah can do, and we should have importance of this quality of Allah in our heart while saying allahuakbar
similarly all the three tasbihs

- though we can do zikr without wazu, its good to do wazu and the best time for zikr is before ishrak in morning and after asar in evening.
- and when in jamath its better to complete our zikr before fajar namaz and complete bayan after asar before 20 minutes to magrib and do zikr, if not after isha according to time

Adab(way) of Ta'lim

the main aim of ta'lim(reading quran and hadith) is: that our heart should get inspired by quran and sunnah

there are two things here:
1. our heart should understand the importance of quran and sunnah
2. by listening to virtues and punishments we should build connection between the knowledge we have and what we implement i.e we must be able to do a deed when we listen to virtues and stop from bad deed when we listen to punishments

Adab
1. we should sit with wazu
2. we should sit with the importance of quran and hadith
3. we should listen with concentration
4. we should sit with intention that what ever we are listening inshallah we will implement them
5. we should sit with intention that we will spreaad what ever we are listening to others

-we should read each verse and hadith for 3 times, so that we understand it properly and it is sunnah (bukhari vol.1)
-we should read only what is written in book and should not give any self explanation unless meaning of word is not understood
-and when ever we hear the name of prophet mohammed(s.a.s) we should read salam

1. Emaan(believe):

Quran:

1. The true believers are those whose hearts tremble with fear, when the name of Allah is mentioned, and whose faith grows stronger as they listen to His revelations and they put their trust in their Rabb, (Quran 8.2)
2. When Luqman, while advising his son, said to him: "O my son! Do not ever commit shirk (associating anyone else with Allah); surely committing shirk is the worst iniquity." (Quran 31.13)

2. Namaz/Salah

Quran:
1. Recite from this Book (Al-Qur'an) which has been revealed to you and establish Salah (Islamic prayers). Surely Salah keeps one away from shameful and evil deeds; and surely the remembrance of Allah (during your prayers and Allah's mention of your name in response to your prayers) is the greatest of all deeds, Allah knows what you do.(Quran 29.45)

Hadees:
1. Jabir ibne-Abdullah (rz) narrates that Nabi(s.a.s) said: The key to paradise is salat and the key to salat is wudu. (Musnad Ahmed)
2. Anas(rz) narrates that Rasulullah(s.a.s) said: The comfort and delight of my eyes has been placed in salat. (Nasai)

3. Ilm and zikr (knowledge and remembrance)

Ilm (knowledge)

Quran:

1. Can those who have knowledge (of Deen) and those who do not have knowledge (of Deen) be equal ? (39.9)
2. Do not mix the Truth with falsehood, or knowingly conceal the truth. (2.42)

Hadith:

1. Uthman ibne-Affan(rz) narrates that Rasulullah(s.a.s) said: The best among you is he who learns the Quran and teaches it. (Tirmidi)
2. Jabir(rz) narrates that Rasulullah(s.a.s) said: Knowledge is of two types:
1. Knowledge that penetrates into the heart, this knowledge is beneficial.
2. Knowledge, that is merely on the tongue; this will be Allah’s evidence against son of Adam. (Targhib)

Zikr (remembrance)

Quran:

1. Allah(swt) says: Therefore remember me, I will remember you (2.152)
2. Verily, in the remembrance of Allah(swt) hearts do find peace and satisfaction(13.28)
3. verily Allah(swt) and his angels bless the prophet. O you who believe! Send your salawat on him and salute him with all respect (33.56)
4. O you believers – all of you – turn to Allah in repentance in order that you may succeed (24.31)

Hadith:

1. Abu Hurairah narrates that Rasulullah(s.a.s) said: One who remembers Allah excessively is freed from hypocrisy (Tabaran, Jami-‘us-Saghir)
2. Jabir ibne-Samurah (rz) narrates when Nabi (s.a.s) offered Salat-ul-Fajr, he would sit cross-legged where he was, till the sun had com e well up (Abu-Dawood)
3. Anas ibne-Malik (rz) narrates that Rasulullah(s.a.s) said: When you pass the gardens of paradise, graze to your hearts content. It was asked: What are the gardens of paradise? He replied: The gatherings for performing the Dhikr of Allah. (Tirmidi)

4. Ekram ul muslim (Respect to others)

Quran:

1. O believers! Let no men laugh at other men who may perhaps be better than themselves; and let no woman laugh at another woman, who may perhaps be better than herself. Do not defame through sarcastic remarks about one another, nor call one another by offensive nicknames. It is an evil thing to be called by a bad name after being a believer, and those who do not repent are the ones who are the wrongdoers. (49.11)
2.O believers! Avoid immoderate suspicion, for in some cases suspicion is a sin. Do not spy on one another, nor backbite one another (to say something about another behind ones back that if one hears it, dislikes it). Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Surely you would abhor it. Fear Allah; for Allah is the Accepter of repentance, Merciful. (49.12)
3. O mankind! We created you from a single pair of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes that you might get to know one another. Surely the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is he who is the most righteous. Allah is All-Knowledgeable, All-Aware. (49.13)

Hadith:

1. Abu Huraira (rz) narrates that Rasulullah(s.a.s) said: You will not enter paradise until you become believer, and you will not be a believer until you love one another. May I not guide you to something by which you will love one another? Spread salam amongst youeselves (Muslim)
2. Abdullah ibne-Masud (rz) narrates Rasulullah(s.a.s) said: Indeed from amongst signs of Day of Resurrection is that people will offer salam to others on basis of acquaintance only. (Musnad Ahmed)
3. Abdullah ibne-Umar (rz) narrates that Nabi (s.a.s) said: A man must not make another get up from his place and then occupy it himself. (Bukhari)
Amir bin Shoeb (rz) narrates that Nabi(s.a.s) said: One must not sit between two persons without their permission. (Abu Dawood)

5. Ikhlas (sincerity)

Quran:

1. Yes! Whoever submits himself entirely to Allah and is good to others will be rewarded by his Rabb; he will have nothing to fear or to regret. (2.112)
2. No one dies without the permission of Allah. The term of every life is fixed. He that desires the reward in this world shall be given it here, and he that desires the reward in the hereafter shall be given it there. Soon We will reward the thankful. (3.145)
3. It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah; it is your piety that reaches Him. Thus, He has subjected these animals to you so that you may glorify Allah for giving you guidance, and O Prophet, give good news to those who do good to others. (22.37)

Hadith:

1. Abu huraira (rz) narrates that Rasulullah(s.a.s) said: Indeed Allah does not look at your faces and possessions, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds. (Muslim)
2. Abu Hurairah narrates that Rasulullah(s.a.s) said: Undoubtedly upon resurrection, people will be treated according to their intentions. (ibne-Majah)
3. Abu Firas Rahimahullah of the tribe of Aslam narrated that a person loudly asked: O Rasulullah! What is Iman? He replied: Ikhlas (sincerity) (Baihaqi)

6. Dawath and Tabligh (Invitation and conveyence)

Quran:

1. And Allah invites to the abode of peace(paradise), and leads whom He wills, to a straight path (10.25)
2. Tell them plainly: "This is my(prophet mohammed(s.a.s)) way. I invite you to Allah with sure knowledge which I and my followers possess. Glory be to Allah, and I am not one of the mushrikin." (12.108)
3. (O Muslims) You are the best of the peoples, you have been sent towards mankind, to enjoin good and forbid evil (3:110)

How to bring these qualities in us

We know much about these qualities but how to bring the originality of these qualities in our hearts. The scholars say and what we see in our natural life is “ when we talk or study about a topic we begin to understand it more and more. For example when we study our syllabus of university, first time we read we don’t understand anything, if we give a second study we will know something. Similarly if we go on studying for more number of times we understand the concept better.

Therefore we have to study mainly about these qualities and try to understand them and bring them into our life.
How can we bring them into our life ?
The easiest procedure is:

1. Emaan :

1. We should study or listen to the stories which Allah(swt) has told in Quran, about the prophets and the pious people. How Allah(swt) has helped the prophets and the pious people. How the help came opposite to what happens naturally.

Allah (swt) helped musa (a.s) by giving way in the water.
Allah (swt) helped ibrahim (a.s)in the fire by making fire cold.
Allah (swt) saved ismail (a.s) by making knife rough and not cutting his throat.

There are many, similarly about the help which was done by Allah (swt) to sahabas.

When we study these things inshallah we will find our emaan increasing. And that increase in emaan will make us stand on the commandments of Allah (swt) and the ways(sunnath) of prophet Mohammed (s.a.s).

2. The second thing what we have to do is to do the Tabligh of these stories to others. When we tell about these things to others the truth will first enter into our heart. Its similar like a child studies and tells the answer to his teacher. The child is not teaching the teacher here but he is learning himself. So we should give more and more Dawah to others so that what I am telling reaches my heart first.

3. The third thing we should do is study the nature Allah (swt) has made, for Allah (swt) says in many verses in Quran .

31.29 : Do you not see that Allah causes the night to pass into the day and the day into the night, that He has subjected the sun and the moon to follow His law, each pursuing its course for an appointed term, and that Allah is well aware of all your actions?

31.31: Do you not see how the ships sail through the ocean by the grace of Allah so that He may show you some of His signs? Surely there are signs in this for every patient, thankful person.

When we study what Allah (swt) has made for us in this universe then we will understand that Allah (swt) is khaliq(creater) of us, and everything on earth and in the sky happens with the order of Allah (swt).

4. The fourth thing we have to do is pray to Allah (swt) to give the originality of emaan in our hearts. Because we cannot get emaan from other source except to those Allah (swt) gives.
1.272 : O Prophet, you are not responsible for their guidance, it is Allah Who guides whom He pleases

Therefore after every prayer and when ever we do dua we should pray for guidance. The best time for prayer is tahajuth prayer in the last part of the night.

we should always follow these steps. Because our emaan keeps on increasing and decreasing.

2. Namaz

1. We should read virtues of namaz, its importance its usefulness to muslims.
2. We should do Tabligh of these things to others, as stated above when we give dawath the matter first enters into our heart.
3. We should strive to make our salah a true one as prophet mohammed(s.a.s) and sahaba had established. We cant go upto that mark but inshallah our salah will become good. For this we should check whether our outer actions like ruku, sajda, etc are made properly or not and we should also check whether our inner intentions are clear or not, whether we are remembering Allah(swt) during salah or not. And our khirath should be clear. And we should read Quran properly as it is to be read.
4. The fourth thing we have to do is pray to Allah (swt) to give the originality of salah to us. Indeed everything is in Allah(swt) hand.

3. Ilm and Zikr (knowledge and remembrance):

Ilm is of two kinds one is ilm of Fazail (virtues) and the other is ilm of Masail(how a deed is to be done). We should first know virtues of deeds, it means we should know what Allah (swt) is going to give if we do a good deed and we should also know the punishment for a bad deed. When we know this two things (virtues and punishment) then it will be easy for us to do good things and avoid sins.
Just knowing virtues of a deed is not enough, we should know how to perform a deed (Masail). For example there is Zakat, we know it is farz on muslims. Just knowing that Zakat is farz is not enough. We must know when it will become farz. Where the money of Zakat is to be spent and where it should not be etc.. So this Masail should be asked to Scholars or can be known from authentic books written on them.

To bring these things practically into our life, we have to do the following :

1. We should know the importance of gaining knowledge. This can be obtained by reading verses and hadith showing importance of knowledge.
2. We should do Tabligh of the importance of knowledge.
3. We should implement the knowledge we have in our real life. For example we know Salah is farz on muslims. Just knowing it is not enough. We should establish salah five times a day. And when ever we need to know masail we should contact scholars. Because doing a good deed with wrong method(not according to sunnah) is of no use.
4. The fourth thing we have to do is pray to Allah (swt) to give the ability to implement the knowledge we have. Indeed everything is in Allah(swt) hand.

Zikr (remembrance):

Allah(swt) says : “ Therefore, remember Me, and I will remember you, be grateful to Me and never deny Me. ” (2.152)

“The one who remembers Allah(swt) is an example of living and who doesnot remember Allah(swt) is like an example of dead” (Bukhari, Muslim)

This verse and hadith shows the importance of Zikr, if Allah(swt) remembers us then who else is required. Therefore we should always do Zikr. For this we have to do these things:

1. We should know the virtues of doing Zikr, these can by gained from Quranic verses and hadith.
2. We should do Tabligh of these virtues and importance of zikr.
3. Scholars say we should atleast start Zikr by reading these things atleast 100 times in the morning and evening.
- kalima : “Subhan Allah, wal Hamdu lillah, wa La ilaha illa’llah, wAllahu Akbar, wa la Hawla, wa la Quwwata, illa billa ”
- Durood on prophet mohammed(s.a.s)
- Isteqfar [Seeking Forgiveness]
4. The fourth thing we have to do is pray to Allah (swt) to give the ability to do Zikr all the time. Indeed everything is in Allah(swt) hand.

By doing Zikr of Allah(swt) we get the love and fear of Allah. The love for Allah(swt) makes us to do good deeds. And the fear of Allah helps us to keep away from sins.

4. Ikram ul muslim (Respect to muslims):

We should always love a muslim. Today the biggest problem is lack of this quality in us. We do salam if we have any work or else we will not even ask about a person. When all the muslims unite inshallah that day whole world will be in the hands of muslims as it was during the time of sahaba.

1. We have to listen to the importance of respect to others, the virtues of respecting others and how sahaba used to love and respect each other though there were differences between them. We should know how prophet mohammed (s.a.s) respected and treated others, for he was the best of human beings.
2. Second thing we have to do is do Tabligh of these things, as said before first we will be able to follow it.
3. We have to respect elders and see that we become polite to others. We should respect our elders and love youngsters and everyone. We should have love for everyone and hate for none. We should never hate any one even a kafir for he can become a believer, but hate only their disbelief i.e we should never follow their disbelief nor their methods.
4. The fourth thing we have to do is pray to Allah (swt) to give the ability to respect and love everyone. Indeed everything is in Allah(swt) hand

5. Ikhlas (sincerity):

This is very important quality if we don’t have this, then all our deeds will go waste. This quality comes last into us after so much hardship and it will go first just with small mistake. So we should be very careful about sincerity to Allah (swt).

1. We should study the importance of sincerity from Quran and hadith. We should listen to virtues of being sincere.
2. We should to Tabligh of importance and virtues of being sincere, so that we become sincere first, inshallah.
3. We should check before doing any deed that am I doing this for Allah or to show off. Similarly we check between the deed and after completing the deed.
4. The fourth thing we have to do is pray to Allah (swt) to give the true ikhlas or sincerity. Indeed everything is in Allah(swt) hand

6.Dawath & Tabligh (invitation and conveyance):

This ummath has been praised for this work. This is the special quality which Allah(swt) has blessed this ummah with.

(O Muslims) You are the best of the peoples, you have been sent towards mankind, to enjoin good and forbid evil - (Al-‘Imran:110)

The main purpose of Tabligh is : to correct ourselves by the procedure explained above and during this process of correcting ourselves we should convey message to others with intention that it is our requirement to follow Islam and when we convey our message to others we will be first to follow it, inshallah.

For we should remember our Tabligh is not the means for hidayah (guidance) of others.
But we should always keep in mind this verse “1.272: O Prophet, you are not responsible for their guidance, it is Allah Who guides whom He pleases”

Therefore our main intention while doing Tabligh should be about our guidance and we should convey our message to others and pray Allah (swt) for their guidance.

The process of getting this quality in us is:

1. We should listen to virtues and importance of Tabligh from Quran and hadith. And how sahaba did Tabligh leaving all of their worldly pleasures.
2. We should think that now there is no more prophet to come then who is going to spread Islam. Its our duty since Allah(swt) said it in Quran.
3. We should do Tabligh of these virtues and importance of Tabligh (It is must these days) to others. As said above when we say to others inshallah Allah (swt) will give us ability to follow first.
4. The fourth thing we have to do is pray to Allah (swt) to give us the ability to do Tabligh to the last of our life with sincerity. Indeed everything is in Allah(swt) hand

Avoding of the irrelevant:

In addition to these qualities another important thing we have to bring in our life is the avoiding of irrelevant things. That is we should avoid all irrelevant things which do not give any profit of deen(islam) or duniya(world).

Quran says: When they hear vain talk, they withdraw from it saying: "Our deeds are for us and yours for you; peace be on to you: we do not desire the way of ignorant." (28:55)

Therefore we should do what Islam asks us to do; we need not bother about others methods. As today it is common for us to discuss about all things except Islam, this discussion is of no use. When ever we meet a friend we should talk only about relevant things which are useful. And our life should also become simple and we should use only those things which are required to us and which islam allows us, and avoid showing off.

Why these six qualities

These six qualities are nothing but six basic important qualities which sahaba had and every muslim should have in them. They should be brought into everyone’s life, so that following of complete islam is easy for us. Since if we think for few moments we will find that we are not able to follow islam because of lack of any of these qualities.

Therefore Luqman (a.s) advised his son about importance of qualities of a muslim. If we read complete sura-e-Luqman we will see that he was advising his son about these qualities only. Some are given for quick reference.

1. Regarding emaan.
31.13: "O my son! Do not ever commit shirk (associating anyone else with Allah); surely committing shirk is the worst iniquity."

2. Regarding namaz:
31.17: O my son! Establish Salah

3. Regarding ilm and zikr :
31.21: When they are asked to follow what Allah has revealed, they reply: "Nay, we shall follow the ways upon which we found our forefathers". What! Will they still follow them even though Shaitan invites them to the punishment of the blazing fire.

31.22: He who surrenders himself to Allah and leads a righteous life has indeed grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold; as the ultimate disposal of affairs rests with Allah.

4. Regarding Ikram al muslim :
31.18: Do not speak to the people with your face turned away, nor walk proudly on earth; for Allah does not love any self-conceited boaster.

31.19: Be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; for the harshest of voices is the braying of a donkey."

5. Regarding Ekhlas (sincerity) :

31.16: Luqman further said: "O my son! Allah will bring all things to light, be they as small as a grain of a mustard seed, and be they hidden inside a rock or high above in the heavens or deep down in the earth. Allah is well aware of all things to their finest details.

6. Regarding Dawath & Tabligh:

31.17: O my son! Establish Salah, enjoin good and forbid the evil. Endure with patience whatever befalls you, surely this shows your determination in conducting the affairs.

Scholars say every parent should advise their children to bring these qualities in them as Luqman (a.s) did. So that he grows up with these qualities and becomes a true muslim.

The Six points of tabligh

The six points of Tabligh are:

1. Emaan : Our belief should be firm that “ There is no other to be praised except Allah, and Mohammed (s.a.s) is His rasool ”
-Its means that we should not do shirk (associating anyone else with Allah) and follow Islam according to sunnah of Rasulullah (s.a.s)

2. Namaz : We should establish salah which is a real one as Rasulullah (s.a.s) and sahaba had established.

3.Ilm and Zikr : We should gain knowledge. We should know Faza’il (virtues) of good deeds and also Masa’il (how to do deed). We should remember that just gaining knowledge is not enough.
According to hadees which means Allah will ask 5 questions on the day of judgment. One of the question in that will be “ How much did you implement on the knowledge you had ? ”.(Tirmidi)
Therefore we should do Zikr (remembrance) of Allah. So that Allah comes to our mind before every act. And we can judge what is halaal and what is haram. Are we doing good or bad.

4. Ekraam al-muslim : It means honoring our muslim brothers and sisters. It means we should benefit others by sacrificing ourselves. We should never think bad about them nor we should keep jealousy about our ummah. (Jealousy of Muslims is haram).

5. Ekhlas : It is our Sincerity towards Allah. What ever we do we should do only for the cause of Allah. According to hadees “one who offers salat, fasts, or gives sadaqa to show off has committed shirk”(Musnad Ahmed). So, what ever deed we do we should remember that Allah (swt) is watching us and we are doing the deed for Allah(swt). Its very important point or quality which is to be brought into our lives.

6. Dawah & Tabligh : Its our duty to invite and convey Islam to people of this world as our prophet Mohammed (s.a.s) is the last prophet, and no other prophet is going to come now. And prophet Mohammed (s.a.s) has been declared as prophet till the Day of Judgment. Then every muslim should think then who is going to call people towards Islam. We should spend all our wealth and health to spread Islam.

As Allah subhanawata’ala has declared in Quran about us :

(O Muslims) You are the best of the peoples, you have been sent towards mankind, to enjoin good and forbid evil (Aal-‘Imran:110)

Allah says : Indeed Allah conferred a great favour on the believers when He sent among them a Messenger(Mohammed (s.a.s)) from amongst themselves,reciting unto them His verses(by means of these verses inviting them and advising them) and purifying them(of sins and their conduct) and teaches them the book(Quran) and Al-Hikmah(wisdom),before which they were in manifest error. (Aal-‘Imran:164)

It has been substantiated by the Qur’an and Ahadithe – sahiha (confirmed traditions) that the Ummah (followers) of the Last of the prophets (s.a.s), was Divinely deputed for the guidance of all peoples (nations) of the world.

Allah says : (O Muslims) You are the best of the peoples, you have been sent towards mankind, to enjoin good and forbid evil (Aal-‘Imran:110)

This verse clearly implies that the muslim ummah is the deputy to the prophet, in his ordained obligations of inviting towards righteousness,enjoining good and forbidding evil. Hence,the obligations entrusted to rasulullah(s.a.s) – invitation through recitation of the Quran,purifying people of undesirable qualities and teaching the book and wisdom – became the prime responsibilities of muslim ummah as well.

Therefore Rasulullah (s.a.s) taught his ummah to spend their life and wealth in inviting towards Allah, learning and teaching divine knowledge, remembering and worshipping Allah. The sahabah gave preference to the above deeds over all worldly preoccupations. They were trained to practice these A’mal (actions) under all circumstances with complete dedication, patience and forbearance withstanding all forms of difficulties and hardships. And they were taught to benefit others by sacrificing physically and materially.

In compliance with the command :
“And strive hard in Allah’s cause, as you ought to strive” (Al-Hajj: 78)

The sahabah strove in the manner of prophets with piety, austerity, discipline, self-sacrifice and giving preference to others. Thus, an environment was created in which emerged models of excellence, who became best of the ummah. The era in which the deeds of Rasulullah (s.a.s) were collectively practiced by the ummah was declared to be the Khair-ul-Qurun(the best of all the times, or the best period of ummah).

Then in successive periods, the religious elite of ummah spent their full effort and energy in fulfilling these prophetic obligations. The luminance of these self-sacrificing efforts is still illuminating in the world of Islam.

In these times, Allah placed in the heart of Sheik Muhammad Ilyas (rah) restlessness and anxiety over the erosion in Islam and burning desire to correct this state of ummah. In the view of religious elite of his times he was unique in this respect. He used to remain restless and concerned for the revival of all what was revealed to Rasulullah (s.a.s) by Allah in the whole world. He advocated, with resolute determination, that any effort for the revival of Deen can only be effective and acceptable when its done in the manner of Rasulullah (s.a.s)

Therefore, such Da’i (one who invites towards Islam) need to be developed, whose desires should be consistent in knowledge, action, thought, perception, passion, compassion and the manner of invitation to Islam - with the aspirations of prophets, particularly Muhammad (s.a.s). Not only should they posses a strong emaan and virtuous deeds, but their inner inspirations should be like those of prophets, they should cherish a fervent love of Allah and his fear.

In character and habits, they should adhere to Sunnah of prophet (s.a.s). Their love or hatred should be for the sake of Allah. The motivating factor behind their inviting to Islam should be a deep compassion and mercy for Muslims, and kindness for all the creation of Allah. The oft-repeated Devine principle for prophets. “Our reward is solely with Allah,” should be their hallmark. They should have no other objective except the pleasure of Allah.

They should have such a passionate desire for the revival of Deen in the world that it keeps driving them, away of their routines, in the path of Allah; while their lives and wealth becoming mere instruments in attaining this objective. There should be no notion of personal authority, status, wealth, property, honor and fame; not even a desire for personal rest and comfort. Whether sitting, standing, speaking, or walking; every act should be geared in this direction.

To revive the ways of Rasulullah (s.a.s) in this effort and bring all facets of life according to commandments of Allah and the sunnah of Rasulullah (s.a.s), and to equip those struggling in this path of Tabligh with the above mentioned qualities the six points were prescribed.

Firstly may Allah forgive my mistakes, the farz and sunnah i leave and accept and help me in my effort in explaining this amazing effort in islam.

Inshallah i will try my level best to clear all your doubts, which will be possible only if Allah gives me strength.

I want people to come to a conclusion, rather than jumping here and there with their baised ideas and informations, Islam is complete, there is no doubt in it. Truth is clear from error. i have got it done recently and know how hard it is when u dont know anything about passports

The process is :

1. Take form no.2 (for miscellaneous service), along with this u also get personal details form.
2. Fill in the forms.
3. Attach copies of memos(tenth, intetr, degree), provisional, degree. Hey but now they do ECNR even if u have tenth memo lolz, during my time u had to b graduate for getting ECNR.
4. In case ur present address is different from permanent address then u should show 1 year proof of present address.
5. Now go to token counter and take the token number.
6. In the passport office u will have a file on which " re-issue passport " will be written, take that file keep ur form and copies of memos etc and tag them.
7. Wait for ur token number to be called, then u have to show ur originals to the officer, he will take ur form and original passport and ask u to wait.
8. when all the forms are taken then he will call ur names again, at that time u have to go and pay the amount of Rs. 300 for ECNR
9. Your passport will be issued back in 3 or 4 days.

thats it, dont go to agents and waste ur money, its so easy

The tableeghis,
easy target for criticism,
Attacks against them launched with cynicism
Politically unaware, Intellectually Docile,
Painted by some as simplistically puerile

But I must hasten to disagree,
And quote to you some history
To prove the nature of my claims
And perhaps to defend their noble aims

When Hinduism was spreading in Mewat,
And muslims were losing iman from the heart,
A spiritual man arose who stood apart,
And founded what we now know as tableeghi jamaat

Who knew this spark of love would spread like fire,
For the situation seemed quite dire,
It transformed darkness to illumination,
And rescued the sunnah from devestation

Empty masjids cried floods of tears,
As no worshippers made sujood for many years,
And then crowds came back and thronged their floors,
You can see angels smile, and the heavens echo with applause.

The dhikr of Allah is being revived by their crowds
Throughout the lands jam'aahs travel like rain-bearing clouds
Bringing much sought for water to thirsty lands,
And turning to luscious green arid desert lands.

Some people may be unaware of this information ,
That mawlana Ilyaas was an initiated sufi master
But he saw the mutasawifs and ulema remaining aloof from their congregation,
Whilst Indias muslims plunged into great disaster

So he took the da'wah out to the masses,
Like Bees flying on journeys making honey in stashes,
Unknown inhabitations became Honeycombs sweet,
Where millions of Muslims gather and meet

They left their families and their abodes,
And embarked on difficult dusty roads,
Traveling for the pleasure of the divine,
To replace the darkness of post modernity with the sunnah's shine.

Embryonic change happens in Forty Days,
Strange Indeed are Allah's ways,
Don’t call this number a reprehensible innovation,
Perchance it be a sign of your lack of academic discrimination.

In the way of Allah each step they tread,
But only for jihad this should be said?
Open the hadith work of bukhari- the chapter on JUMUAH,
ya akhee f'illah,
In that very chapter not about jihad, it quotes the hadith of the feet being covered with dust
Fee sabeel illah

How many a former drug addict I have encountered in these lands,
Whose previously injecting hands are enshrouded with ancient sins
And now he sits in the house of God with a tasbeeh in his hands
Those same hands make dhikr on those beads of strings

How many a robber who used to steal,
How many a zaani who shamed the earth's surrounds
How many a musician singing profane sounds
Now recounts God's Jalal-it makes him yell out squeals
And now the earth begins to smile, as he prostrates and as he kneels...

How many a face- black white and yellow from every schism
Sit on a mat and eat together their repast
Whilst politicians talk of the problems of racism

From the orient to the occident
And from the south right to the north
Crowds emerge with intentions heavenly bent
And taking Allah's name alone, they come forth

Pakistanis, Caucasians, Mayalsians, Africans, And Turks
Chinese, Eskimo, and russian faces
Ethnicities unheard of fill masjids where traces,
Of their forefathers are written in historical works.

Whilst nations sit before cathode rays,
That titillate their eyes with their enticing ways,
These men rebel against satan's invitation
And turn to the work of the prophets-driving iblees to frustration

They sit of the floor as it indents their knees,
They know not of Nietzsche, Hume, Kant or Socrates,
They couldnt perhaps recount ghazzali or avicenna's complex kalaam,
But the dhikr of Allah makes their souls calm

This is not to deny the place of the mutaklimeen,
Without whom we would be in disarray,
But for the awaam such complex arguments can lead astray
So let dhawq and wijdaan provide them with yaqeen.

They are not by tales of Machiavelli's prince infected
The sahabas stories motivate their lives
Such dark political ideologies before such heros stand rejected
Upholders of truth and self sacrifice

They hold no huge political rallies protesting to creation
In the nights they stand in prayer before the answer of every supplication
And with tears flood the floors begging for mercy and rejuvenation
Once more gifting glory to the Ummah of the best of creation

Don't approach the worldy kings -they cannot protect,
A Pretzel falls into their tracheas, almost suffocating
Such a small little thing He cannot eject?
How will he give Honour to those who stand outside the white house waiting?

They couldn’t tell you about quantum mechanics or Hawkings
They couldn’t refute Darwinian thought or the reductionism of dawkins
They don’t know that much of Heisenberg’s principle of uncertainty
For to them the kalimah is a deeply rooted certainty

They might not know Chomsky’s views on Linguistic Bayaan,
Or how Steven Pinker's instincts about neurolinguistics fit,
But they have of a surety read soorah rahman
And know that language is from Allah a merciful Gift.

And not the product of random forces without end,
Or indeed a blind watchmaker -No my friend
The blindness is in your hearts-not the maker of harmony
So with Ahsan-ul-qawl..They call To the Absolute with humility

On the Day of Reckoning when the Prophets say nafsee nafsee...
Perhaps Dawkins will smile, albeit, temporarily
Thinking "Ah My Selfish Gene Thesis was true"
Even these prophets are exhibiting ultimately a selfish hue

But Then Mustafa shall come and say Ummati Ummati...
Such selflessness which will cause his theory to terminate suddenly,
This is the beloved of Allah, and this maqam you cannot explain scientifically,

Imaan, Salaah, the 6 points are in the air

Those of us who study in intellectual arrogance

From Don to Da’i (A man with great emaan) :

He had a rowdy sheet (I fear uttering these words) on his name. Police always kept an eye on him. He was a big don (I fear uttering these words) in his area. It was his life before.Allah blessed him and on tashkeel he went in jamath. He knew the truth of life there and he repented from all his bad deeds. He later on became so pious and god fearing that elders say about him Moulana yousuf (rah) also a great scholar and god fearing man and amir of Tabligh used to ask him “ Fazlay karim I know Allah helps you, but I want to see Allah's help to you through my eyes, please show me once ”He was a taxi driver and earned his living through it. And spent much in cause of Allah. He was a not an alim (scholar). I heard from elders one man asked him we are muslims we have emaan on Allah we don’t need to work on emaan. For this fazl e karim (rah) did 40 days speech only on emaan to him. After listening to speech that man said I didn’t really knew what emaan is till now.Though he was not a scholar he was made Amir of Scholars. They used to be astonished when fazl e karim (rah) used to talk over emaan. Why he was Amir of scholars we can understand from this !Once Fazl e karim (rah) went to saharanpur to meet Zakariya (rah), Zakariya (rah) asked Fazl e karim (rah) to talk over emaan in the gathering and he sat infront of him. When Fazl e karim (rah) completed his speech Moulana Zakariya (rah) was crying and asked him “ please tell me do you think I have such emaan on Allah ” ( Allah hu akbar - Allah blessed this only to those people)So every one call him with respect “ From don to Amir of Alim’s ”I heard about him from many great people, I just couldn’t imagine people can change like him and have emaan like him. There is more to tell about him.
